So here are the two 5cm lens I own, the 752XXX is defective although it looks good, guess it was misassembled after a cleaning. The 745XXX is like new in every way except it is missing the infinity lock, I will not miss it.
Rafael - you only have two? Get cracking man! No seriously, I woke up this morning and saw these pics and it was all I could do to get my breakfast down. They are gorgeous! Yes, the infinity lock drives me crazy. Your portrait samples confirm my impression. I'm glad it's not just me. But even at f2.8, it seems to lack bite, at least compared to the f1.4 version. Yet close up, as you show in those great lens pics, it's really crisp.
Rafael, may I ask another question you say you have 2 versions but in the byline for the first 6 pics you cite the S mount version. In the 3rd pic you say you're at the minimum focussing distance of 1.5 feet but as you've got the 2 lenses in the shot I'm assuming you're using the S mount version to take the pic and you're at the minimum focussing distance for that lens?
Anyway, they are beyond beautiful. Thank you very much for posting these. It was a great way to start the day. I love everything about them, especially the bubble cases.
Andy - you picked the perfect time and place to stop. I haven't seen that landscape in a while, I didn't realise how much I missed it.
George - I don't think you'll have long to wait. The 40mm f2 is a small, very light lens. It's a different design to the 28mm, which is also small, it's hard to believe the 40 will be the only one in that design. I'm hoping they're planning a range of them. I don't have a problem with the plastic mount, I know that's a deal breaker for some people. Or else there's Fuji. The XT30 with the 27mm f2.8 is virtually pocketable.

There is a Nikon utility that allows you to build your own profiles. For things like sharpness, contrast, hue, clarity, saturation, etc. So you could really build your own “film simulation” and load it as a Custom profile in the camera. You can also do it via the menus in the camera.
We were planning to head to Shenandoah this week since the kids get to have their fall break. I’ve been checking for fall colors there but everything still looking green so decided not to go. Will surprise you another time at Staunton Market.

Good to see you Chuong. That first one is great!
I too love the rectilinear images from our wide Nikors
I have a 15mm f3.5 on holiday with me (thank goodness for the car)
Was mooching around some back waters up on the Ardnamurchan peninsula and came across the Glen Finnan church
There had been a wedding there about an hour before my arrival
Then on to the Glenuig Bay view from the Glenuig Inn
D810 + 15mm f3.5

of course it's Nikon !!
Steve,
Good to see some fairer weather in Scotland.
It has been 16 months since I was back home so your images are making me feel homesick.
Did you take any shots of the Glenfinnan viaduct or from the viewing point on the hill looking down the loch past the war memorial? Those shots are on my bucket list.

Riccardo, these are very nice, especially the first image. Great textures and lines. That clay tile roof at the bottom of the image has wonderful colors and shapes.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. Much appreciated.
Me too prefer the 1st image
Late afternoon lateral lighting attracted my attention to the scene.
I took the picture behind a window glass in a museum (I didn't know if I were allowed to open the window or not ... so I didn't open it); in addition, the sensor could not be parallel to the window. Nevertheless, sharpness was rather good despite such a terrible "neutral filter" in front of a 40-year old lens
The 2nd image documents the increasing chaos of e-scooters in Rome and I decided to play with a rather large aperture.
P.S.: Hope to have time to document fall colors in mountains near Rome. I'll bring my Zeiss primes and the AI-S 50/1.8 "long nose". I'll post here the images.

Not going to the Mallaig road and Glen Finnan Memorial until Friday
Currenty down at the other end of Loch Shiel.
I did the view many years ago on an F3 and a Hasselblad. I will find the picture when I get back home in a couple of weeks.
It was a B&W image and the hills were etched in grey scales that are absolutely gorgeous. Never got a repeat of the image.
Even though I have tried many times, and will try again this weekend.
You must make it back to the northern hills soon. Specially now that the colours are beginning to turn.
A heads up-Foto Forum camera store in Phoenix has a Nikon 8MM lens coming up for sale and i believe its without the viewfinder, E-mail is [email protected] , phone 602-263-0084. I saw the lens case and asked about it on Friday, 10/08/2021.
We're just back from Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, Got to say the weather was nice in Indiana but drove IFR thru Kentucky and Tennessee. Got to hand it to the people of the Blue Ridge it's foggy.
These are from Third Street in Marquette Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. No matter where you go in this country you find, "Car guys,' "Gear heads,' "petrol heads." They are the same everywhere and wrenching on their car is what they do and what they enjoy. Heres a sample while I process more for later this week,
