Ben, I wrote a photoshop action in your honor that I call "The Ben Effect". Here is an image I processed using this action. If you squint your eyes just right - you maybe will see The Ponte Vecchio on the edge of the river that the man is fishing in.
James - I am so flattered. And I love this effect......well, duh. I don't know what the original looked like but this is pretty dramatic for a fishing pic......not sure I see the Ponte Vecchio, this pic is so dark that that empty chair has me worried, it's as if he's just launched his friend's body downstream.

It does look like a pretty cool cam … though I’m a bit surprised you’re not moving back to a full frame camera. Probably having the speed booster was a part of your decision. Both would need adapters anyway with MF lenses so I guess it comes down to other other likes/dislikes between the two. The IBIS will be super handy for sure. Have fun with your new toy
You're right, the speed booster makes the difference with no discernable loss of image quality. And this may sound silly, but I never liked using my 50-135mm with full frame, but on my cropper, it's my poor man's 70-200.
I didn't want to post that mediocre pic - I had even deleted it from my Flickr but Ben ordered me to put it back and posted a compliment... a compliment ! it is so rare that I feel bound to post it here as well.
truth to be told, he posted a second snarky comment a few minutes later... so all is becoming normal again...
Indeed! This photo puts Charlie Bronson to shame. ..."Once upon a time a chin diaper wearing American spread pestilence across the globe while eating at a sidewalk cafe." How can you be expected to not document the spectacle?
Wish Flibble (Dominick Reed from Fred's WA and MA)? were here. He would say the right thing. Bought his book "I Drink Lead Paint" years, and years ago - laughed til it hurt.

Sheesh. Shoot me for liking it. As all the comments on this thread are preserved for posterity, I guess I need to correct the record.
I am, and have always been, your biggest fan. I think that's well known at this stage, on page 1435. The most recent manifestation of my esteem is that I saw this pic today when I was at the dentist and admired it immediately. When I got home I wanted to post a comment but found the pic had been removed. I asked why and proceeded to lavish praise on it.
That has somehow been translated into me "ordering" you to put it back, which is both laughable and fantastical, not the least because of the suggestion that you would feel bound to do anything on my say so. Who are we kidding here?
But yes, in the course of the discussion I did say I thought it was a bit grainy and low-res and asked if that was because it was a crop. It turns out it's a reflection which explains the graininess.
I'm going to say the same thing about this pic that you said about mine: I love it because it tells a story. They're a great couple. And I love the fact that, even though we can't even see most of her face, her expression is so intense. I'm with James, this is quite the spectacle. But if it's a reflection and you caught some of the window frame, or got anything to show that it is a reflection, I would have included it in the shot. Maybe you didn't, that happens.
Anyway, I love it. The only thing I'm embarrassed about is that I used to have a pair of sandals just like his.
There was no way I was going to post this, but Curtis insisted I should. Just playing around with the 35/2.0 O on Df. Guesstimated focus with a low-tech selfie stick, my right arm.

Just a gentle reminder … we still haven’t seen any images from that beautiful Nikon F4 you have yet
Thank you Dean for your nice comment.
And sorry for f4. Due to this pandemic, 4 months continuously I haven’t come back home yet. I’m really eager to take some analog photos with nikkor 3514 thorium on.
Leighton, that secret went fast. It's not so much fun looking up your post history, I rather enjoyed trying to guess at it using (flawed) logic :-) Congrats!
This "Ben" look is getting some life. What's next, the Phillipe look?

A rescan of a double exposure taken in 2014 with a Nikon FM2n & 50/1.2 Ai-S (Fuji Superia Venus 800).
I have literally hundreds of rolls I like to slowly go over and rescan again from before I started using NegativeLabPro. In the end I got half decent using NikonScan4 and ColorPerfect for inversion and processing, but NLP makes such a dramatic difference ... especially with colour negs.

I almost sold the Leica. Got it all together with the boxes and accessories, took pictures and everything. Then went out to shoot with it one more time. Nope, not happening. Yet....
