Hi all, as it seems that Ben is posting again I have no choice but to dust my old trusty 50/1.8 ais and to infect that thread with my street shots. Please don't blame me, I don't really have a choice.
Tried shooting Oscar with the 55mm f2.8 micro, and a tiny light panel last night. He is not use to having me clicking away with a real camera. However, the first shot is - IMO- perhaps my finest cat image ever. It captures his emotions. The nose says - "You have my attention". The eyes are of judgement - "You are invading my space" - "What are going to do" - "I'm not sure I trust you". It all happens between the tip of his nose to the OOF area of his eyes. When I backed up slightly he posed for me - second image.
All these cats were feral and they adopted me. They are very skittish of the camera, and it has taken years to build their trust. This is the most cautious cat ever - Marine. She is very small, has a new born kitten voice, and a permanently furrowed brow.
Here is the mother of both Oscar, and Marine - Momma Cat

As Leighton replied they really vary according to initial design and then the use/abuse it enjoyed once it left the factory. Some people here by ANIB pristine lenses. Others, like me decent good working lenses.
You can get an 85mm, 105mm in the 1.4 - 1.8 apertures and a lot in the 35mm - 50mm range with apertures at 1.2 thru 1.8. There is nothing < 2.8 in the 20’s or teens.
I see you live in Tampa! A short trip to Auburndale (Polk County) will get you to Marshall’s Camera who stocks dozens of NMF glass that you can play with and/or buy. Yes, a shameless plug for an old time camera store that many in this thread have done business with. Call … ask for Arlen.
3 buildings that I sometimes walk past.
Nothing spectacular but a crisp sunny autumnal day is perfect for IR.
Pity I don't have my D610 back from its conversion yet.....
