I always enjoy your 28mm DX shots, serge. You make great use of it. I thought the 16mm was taking over but it looks like the old friend is back. Yeah, I like the Df a lot. I've shot more with it over the year I've had it than the D700, which I also love. It's not the files, because I like the D700's more but the shooting experience with the few MF Nikkors I have. It really is a joy to use with the small primes.

Serge, that is a sight to see. Do they allow day visitors? The inside may be something else too.
Hi, Ray:
I am fairly sure the hotel would allow day visitors. It has a highly rated restaurant which surely anyone can visit. I should have stopped in but it was a quick side trip. I suspect the interior is something that is well worth checking out.

Thank you, Siphiwe. For whatever reason, have always enjoyed using the little lens. Sadly, it was recently discontinued after 30+ years of production.
It s a bit surprising that you prefer the D700 files over those of the DF. Both cameras have a strong following for the " special sauce" of their sensors. The retro style DF is a looker so not too surprising that you enjoy shooting with it.

Very nice Ray! You are giving Rafael a run for his money
I have not had much time to play with my Z6 and FTZ in anger. I really miss not having the aperture setting in the viewfinder.
Another bugbear is not having the aperture info in the Exif. I didn't think that would be a big deal but I am so used to seeing the aperture info when editing my images in LR. Oh well, the price one pays for IBIS and other smart features.
My 8 year old D610 got shipped out yesterday for a 720nm IR conversion. It has served me well and is about to enter its second life. I am really looking forward to seeing what IR in FX looks like compared to my D7100 DX.
I am sure that great Southern California late day light has a lot to do with it. I remember my first sunset in San Diego in 1980 when I went to school out there in the Navy. Will never forget how it looked with that sunset on the water.
This is turning out to be a bad week on many fronts.
Work is not very pleasant at the moment.
I sent the D610 away for an IR conversion only to find out that there is a major backlog and lead times are 8 weeks. They didn't disclose that in any of my comms with them before sending it to them.
Sold the D7100 IR on eBay over the w/e only to find the buyer has not paid and won't return messages. Still it means I can still play in IR land until the eBay deal sorts itself out.
Lost most of the coolant from the old Beemer yesterday. Managed to limp home before the instrument cluster lit up. Turns out the lower end of the radiator expansion tank had popped out a half inch from its clip in housing and that meant 2 hoses had been rubbing against the alternator for some time. So now I am stuck at home alone since the kids are back in London and my wife has gone away for the week.
I really need one of those Austin Healys as a back up car.....
