George did the Fuji stir you enough? Congrats! And the Noct is an appropriate lens on it.
Oh yeah.
Did some shooting/testing late yesterday around the old barns near where I grew up. Wanted to see how the PC-Nikkor 28mm f/3.5 would do. Like what I see so far with that lens. These two shots with some rise dialed in. Pro Neg Hi camera profile on each.
Rafael and Colin, I was not sure the 300 Q will do well with the 8X10 but its a pretty good cost beneficial choice for that format. Less expensive than its more modern version the 300 M, or the 300 5.6 W. This last one had the Gibellini front standard raised to its max, and no vignetting showed up.
The scans from the 8X10 black and white at 2400 DPI save at ~150MB. At this rate my hard drive is going to be slowing down pretty quickly. The scanner driver crashes trying to save larger resolution.

I did see that news, but 102 megapixel is a little much for me. The 50R I am shooting is used and has less than 1500 shots on it. Can't tell it was not new. Not to mention costs less than new too.
Colin that grab shot was superb! And loved the old boat. And the Salcomb pano!
Siphiwe excellent flora shot with the 135.
Kristian, I missed a few pages in the past week or so, but seeing your comment I need to dig further back in the thread! Hope you get more time to indulge in photography.
George your RF lineup was delightful to look at.
Sar, nice scene!
Dean like the colour in the first frame with the F6.
Scott, loved the Letchworth Upper Falls scene! So well composed and executed.
Philippe, always enjoy your stop bys.
Jay I sure am jealous about your rig. Although for me to use anything astronomy related would need to go pretty far away from the heavily light polluted mid-Atlantic.
This was taken a couple of weeks ago at Stourhead National Trust.
Slightly early for full autumn colours but since it was en-route on our journey home we decided to drop in and take a walk around the landcaped garderns.
A few of my lenses came back from getting CLA'd including the 85/18 HC Very happy to have them back. These are from the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery which we visited on Saturday. F3HP & Kodak Portra 400.
Nice Pics Steve. Weather looks favourable too.
My parents used to take the family caravaning down that way but I have no recollection of the place.
I need to remedy that at some point.
Colin and Steve masterful seascapes with great composition and subjects!
George has Reagan been a bad influence on you!
Raphael the spherical shot all red put me in the Christmas spirit. Looked like a decorative bulb!
This is the "swinging bridge" in the Lake Ozark Missouri area. Walked it because I didn't trust it. Weight limited to 3 tons and then the van, at least 6000 lbs, pictured last went over it like nothing!
Hallo everybody, I'm happy to see that the thread is stille well alive and popular.
I have been exploring the M42 lens world for a while but never stopped to use Nikon old manual focus lenses.
For my last travel (it's one year ago already!) I decided to go for 24mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8 and 105mm f/2.5, all AIS.
I have tried to shot some hand held pictures to be assembled in a sticking software and at home I upgraded my free usual ICE to PTGui, excellent software in my opinion with more option to get a better result.
