Unfortunately, I wore the wrong boots on that modest three mile hike and paid the price with a tear at the back of my ankle that made hiking impossible until last Thursday. I got a renewed pass to the Sky Oaks entrance to the watershed and took a relatively short hike on the shore of Bon Tempe reservoir. Again I had the 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI mounted. Here is a look at the reservoir with the East Peak of Mount Tamalpais in the distance. You'll note the water level is low. In fact, the reservoirs stand at 67% of capacity which is just a tad below normal for this time of year.
We'll have hot weather for the next two days but hopefully the air will stay clear and I'll be able to get back on the trail. I haven't gotten nearly enough exercise this summer, which isn't a great thing for my aging body. I need a few weeks of good cardio workouts on the trails. Those are always great opportunities to take a few photos... hopefully I won't disappear again... ...Show more →
Nice to see you back, Curtis. Very nice shots too. Especially like the last one. Many of your B&W shots look genuinely filmy. Nice job on the conversions.
Bummer on the boots, Curtis, but Happy belly button reflection day!
When I had my yearly appointment (virtual this year) she told me that a lot of her patients are having raised A1c levels, and a lot more stress due to all the Covid events. Me, I wear two masks when I am at work, 8 hour or longer exposures every day to those who think that wearing one as a chin strap, or leaving their nose hanging out of it is ok... and I'm not going to bring that home with me...
I feel bad that you're having to fight the additional smoke and bad air quality on top of everything else.

From the previous page sounded like Curtis' birthday is today. A very happy birthday Curtis, and keep on doing those hikes!
Have had less and less motivation to do much with taking pics but have been admiring the postings from newer and seasoned folks at the thread the last couple weeks.
Curtis, great to hear that things are getting better for you. Someone did a fantastic job of restoring the Bel Air. Happy Birthday to you as well.
Mystic, one of my favorite Connecticut towns and was lively compared to others. The larger boat traffic was missing in action so fortunate to catch the Mystic River Bridge (ca 1920) in operation.

My first family event in the times of COVID. Took some chance but we had to do this.
This is a 5 anniversary marriage Vows renewal.
They had a 'professional' photographer who told me I should get a Sony. He probably was just jealous of my taking photos all night with no flash. A fire pit helped.
Great pictures in this page. I'm partial to Phong's flower pictures. That macro sure is nice. Then there's Rowdy, living up to his name but a great poser. Serge and the 28mm, what can I say. Always amazed at how versatile a 28mm seems, in your hands.
