Gibellini Bellatrix 810 camera with Nikkor-Q 300 f9 mounted using an adapter board. Cheapest 8X10 in the Gibellini 8X10 line. Got the camera set up over the weekend, but doesn't mean I have worked out loading the 8X10 film holder and other logistics yet
Here´s a couple from a hike and mushroom hunting hike yesterday. Found a couple of Fly Amanitas, not for eating though . Also caught a couple of Boletus Edulis - sooo delicious......
At infinity this NKJ lens did a lot better across the frame than my newer rubber focus aid copy. I do not see any shortcomings of this lens at infinity, contrary to what I read. But I only use 24MP, it is non-ai and it will not mount on a DSLR - Z6 it has to be.
The rubber focus one would not quite reach infinity so I had some pressure against the stop and this may have cause the right side to not be as sharp, it also did not extend the area in focus as far and as close as the older lens, who knows. Up close they were more of a match.
(PS: the 55mm 1.2 at these apertures is just as good but with a little more curvature of field)
Bottom line is my new lens is great! that's all I care for.

Ok, now you are just showing off
But seriously, I can't wait to see what you produce with that camera.
Ive been watching Morten Hilmer's youtube channel for a few weeks now, not only is it meditative but really well done. This morning's video suggestion fits this forum perfectly, as a friend sends Morten a box of old MF Nikkors plus other goodies.
His elation just reminds me of how much these old gems really do stand the test of time. Not sure how to embed the video so the link i hope will do for now.

Terrific video and I think we all share his enthusiasm. Thanks!

So the like new compensating 55mm 3.5 nippon kogaku micro nikkor came in from Montana Kid. It truly is a new lens, nothing detracts from it.
I have not taken a portrait of the lens yet. Here is the ebay photo to identify.

Ahh, one day I will venture that way, Isle of Skye is on my bucket list! Enjoy and cheers!
The West coast of Scotland is stunning. My ancestors were Lords of the Isles, drove out the Vikings a thousand years ago, and my Clan seat is Dunollie Castle there. (MacDougall)

Cool vid. Glad the F3 was in the box. I think he left that to the end on purpose for a bit of suspense
I've been busy renovating for weeks and moving gravel in the garden yesterday so took a day off for a ride up the coast past Port Douglas to the Daintree NP.
The CREB track is the original electricity supply route to Cooktown further north (where Captain Cook repaired his ship Endeavour in 1770).
It is legendary for 4x4 and Adventure bikers and runs for 100 miles through the oldest World Heritage rainforest. Only just re-opened after covid, closed during the Wet Season due to flooding (there are quite a few creek crossings) and the extremely slippery red clay soil.
I did my first ever river crossing ! It is the Daintree River and yes it has crocs in it but it's shallow there obviously. I will have to go back and do the whole track next time.
Sugar cane on the way home just before Mossman (they have a Cane Mill there to process the sugar). The biggest mountain in the middle is called The Devil's Thumb and people do hike up it.

Steve, I hope the weather is kind to you. We had planned to be in Scotland this time of the year but things changed so we ended up in Cornwall and now Devon, each for a couple of days. Gone trigger happy and have many hundreds of images to sort and cull after we get home on Thursday. No laptop with me.
Instead of whisky we are sampling Salcombe gin. 🤪 Ended up buying a bottle.

I was looking for an excuse to open this bottle ....
Curtis and his age related event has provided the motivation.
I am currently in the Scottish Highlands for a couple of weeks, so what better place to celebrate the age of this bottle and Curtis.
I will post some pix as the local internet service allows. (Very slow)
I am near Inverary which has one of the best Whisky shops in this fair land so I feel I am in the right place.
Might go over to Colins home area in a couple of weeks when I start my journey home fro the Isle of Skye.
Hope I can post some pix, if not will be loading some when I get back.
These pix taken with 105mm f2.8 micro, not 50mm as shown....... ooops
