It sounds interesting for non E adapter attached to Sony body when I dig into EXIF on Flickr.
In brief, you will not see F value. If you press "show exif" button and scroll down, there is a line to say "Brightness Value ..." which is F number you shot.
But I wonder how it can calculate a brightness value for a shot taken with an adapted lens when it doesn’t actually know the aperture value? A is the f value in the equation.
I also checked a couple of my shots on Flickr that I know were taken @ f/1.2 on an A7iii but they have a brightness value of 2.65. Like this one...

Wonder if it is similar to what Leica uses to estimate aperture? It is accurate most of the time, but goes way out to lunch once you put filters on the lenses.

I’m not sure. But the Bv in the EXIF from an adapted lens must be in incorrect mustn’t it? if one of the values is missing. The aperture could have been anything from f/1.2 - f/16. I’m not smart enough to understand these things

When we first went to the island about 10 years ago with the kids we spent days on this beach, snorkeling the reef. This time, although the weather was glorious, the winter water was far too cold for us.
Great shots from Magnetic Island Andy. Once again you are taking me back 18 years or so. Remember we had a really nice hike while visiting, we didn't swin in the ocean though... Maybe it was stinger season..
We took some burgers and after a couple of glasses of ice cold prosecco in the camp site bar in Happy Hour walked the 100m to the beach and cooked them on the electric BBQs

Recently picked up a Fuji XT2 for a song. It was sold as non-functional, but when I was inspecting it, I noticed that the ribbon cable had been cut to the rear LCD. I had seen a video on YouTube on this issue and in that video, the user had the same other issues as the unit I was looking at. So I took a chance on it. Took it apart and found that all the ribbon cables except one had come loose. I plugged them all in (except the LCD as it was damaged) and I have a functioning camera! I did forget to look at the port where the LCD goes in to make sure that the cable lock is still there...but I can still do my $200 challenge that I had been doing with my $100 Fuji XE1. I got the body for $50.
24/2.8 N.C., 35/2 O &105/2.5 P.C. all added to my growing scalloped lens family.
All are in very nice condition. The lenses are all non-ai, but I’m going to send them off for surgery. I figured it would take forever waiting for Ai'd versions in nice condition so this seemed a better strategy
I had to repeat this... those are gorgeous lenses Dean. Now tell us the truth... bought from local Hong Kong stores? Or purchased online. I have fantasies about wandering through local shops with hundreds of manual focus Nikkor lenses to browse... There always seem to be Hong Kong offerings when I search E-Bay. Inquiring minds...

Indeed. And to make matters worse, the Ro for the scalloped strain of this NMF-Lens virus seems a lot higher than for the non-scalloped variety. Strangely, it doesn't seem like any herd immunity was ever reached on this thread either, even though so many were infected. Patient zero (Curtis) has a lot to answer for.
The pre-AI lenses really were the ones that did me in, both because of their rarity when converted and their exquisite beauty. That they perform so well makes it all worthwhile. It is a delight to see you playing the game with us again Dean. You were AWOL for TOO LONG!
Late to the party Phong but definitely need to congratulate you on the shot of your daughter. It is gorgeous. Love the other photos you've been sharing as well.
With all the weather challenges at the moment I hesitate to share this photo I took today during a ramble around Bon Tempe reservoir near where I live. It was in the mid-seventies today, a bit windy but sunny. The few hikers I encountered were courteous and maintained distance so my effort to stay safe is still working well. I had the 55 f/1.2 S.C. mounted. Loved the shots you shared with your copy of the lens Leighton.
A summer day in the Bay Area... a five shot panorama.
And another shot from the trail. In the distance is the earthen dam that keeps the water in Bon Tempe and beyond that under the low clouds is Pine Mountain. I've hiked over and around everything you see in these images.
And a few black and white shots from my last few days of rambling with camera in hand... the first two taken with the 135 f/3.5 Q AI and the last with the 55 f/1.2 AI.

Hey Curtis. It is fun walking through the local shops hunting down lenses, and there a lot, but ones in really good condition are priced way too high IMO. Way too high. Like 100% too high
I found the 24/2.8 N.C. & 35/2 O on eBay (Japan) ...
And the 105/2.5 PC HK version I found on our own local classifieds. I use Google translate (this guy speaks excellent English though) to make the deal over WhatsApp and then we meet at a Metro stop somehwre and do the trade. I must be one of the only "Gweilos" who use this site
The guy who I bout this lens off of (Matt) is a very cool guy and we are in contact now. This lens was one of his rejects from his collection. His collection seems to be at Rafael level status This is his collection below...
