Here's my 1966 US Military Leica KS-15(4) which used in Vietnam war. Only 784 units was produced to fulfill ordered from US Military in 60's.
It was re-paint in Bluish Grey by me in 2015. Enjoy

On the subject of repainting, I've just picked up another D800, I'm getting nearly as bad as "You Know Who" !
same lack of paint in the same areas as my last one
Sniped it this morning, D600 is going.
Just couldn't get on with the D600 - no 1 touch 100% zoom, multi-direction pad ugh, no exposure preview in Live View, no dedicated top buttons - ISO, WB, QUAL, too small. Zoom + and minus on the back the wrong way round !
Doesn't look as bad as Kristinas D800, and she bought hers new. I somehow have the feeling that the paint on the D800 is not as resilient as the one on the D700/D3

Thanks for the likes and comments. Made it up north last weekend, and fit in a walk. First four are with the 28mm f2.8 ais, last one is an 18 image stitch with the 50mm f1.2 ais - about 160 degree field of view.

Shocking isn't it? People say old cameras were the same but at least it was brassing not the grey plastic looking magnesium alloy of today's bodies.
Here's the bottom of the D600, 78K clicks. Nowhere near 138K but I bet when it reaches that figure it's not as bad as the D800.
How many clicks on your D800/D810's ? Maybe they do get used more ? D700 / D3 def way better.
My D3 is at merely 83380 clicks and looks almost as good as new (minus a shutter release button that fell off). The D800 is merely at 52000 clicks. I will make some photos tomorrow
On the topic of brassing, this camera has some marks, but it is 52 years old.
My D3 is currently at 311,934 clicks..
My D700 is 46,238 clicks.

Thanks, Don. BTW, I do almost all conversions in PS6. I tried SEP, but I just never felt drawn to it. The "control points" didn't give me the control I wanted. Layer masks in PS seem to work better for me. I use both B&W adjustment layers and channel mixer to get the desired "filter effect." Then Levels adj. layer and/or Curves adj. layer to fine tune the results. On the rare occasions when I want a sepia or other toning, I'll use a Gradient Map adj. layer.
I'm logged in on two computers, and it doesn't seem to be a problem going from one to the other without ever logging out. Unless your friend insists, perhaps the easiest solution is to NOT log out.
All I know is there is a box at the bottom of the page that asks "Would you like to logout?" Are you saying that pressing that button doesn't work?
Correct, it wasn't working. Then for no apparent reason, it worked. All is OK now, but I have no idea why it wasn't working and then later was. BTW, when I logged in on my friend's computer, it logged me out on my computer. So I was concerned that I might not be able to log in again on mine. In any case, it's working now. Sorry for bothering you.
Love seeing the shots of lenses and old cameras! I may have to post a picture of something being delivered today
I was sitting on the front porch early this morning thinking about what equipment to take on vacation in 10 days. My dog was waiting for the newspaper to be delivered. That is about all he retrieves now
I had my X-Pro2 with the Nikkor-S.C 5cm f/1.4 LTM rangefinder lens mounted. Below shot at f/2. Since Google announced that they will no longer be developing or supporting NIK, I have been playing around with other black and white tools that will have to eventually replace Silver Efex Pro (hopefully will still work long into the future).
