I couldn't resist one more shop window however... this a few stores down the block. This person is designing and producing hats in her shop. I've not noticed it before. It is hard to imagine one can make a business like this be profitable, but then what do I know? I happen to live in an area with considerable wealth, so perhaps such things as hand made hats makes sense... Same goes for the lingerie store which has been at that location for a long time...
Challenge #9 Food (used my challenge #1 posted earlier to produce this). Taken with the 55 f3.5 Ai. Quiche with asparagus, onions, yellow peppers, bacon, and a few other goodies in a homemade crust. Promptly consumed after taking this.
Scott pay no mind to Reagan's comment, after all he is Nikon-less. The Bacon in the Quiche is barely visible is my only comment. Other than that it'll serve for dinner at my house.
The challenge, what to do? I fell into my old trap of wanting to put the 35-200 thru its paces. It's a great lens, and one you should own Curtis. It served me well on road trips and have to say I looked at it in amusement with it's MACRO feature. So I put it to the test in natural light and hand-held. The close up courtesy of some extreme PP is pleasing. The lens is tack sharp whether using it for day to day shots and now macro.
So my item not related to photography was a tough one to choose. Then on the stainless steel countertop I use to photograph images I found the answer to my quest and even the virus.
And here is what is on my plate at the moment. I know for us single men, the world of fine dining is seldom available when access to restaurants is diminished. So here is what is often my lunch... together with bottle of Clausthaler non-alcoholic beer...
PPC #8. I've given up waiting for interesting light in the picture. Out the front window, just your typical subdivision carved out of what was most likely cornfields 20 years ago. Couple different views. First shot 85mm f1.8H on a micro43 cam (focus was deliberately on the mailbox, wanted to see what kind of blurring I could get). Second shot 24mm f2.8 AIS.
When George and I put this list together I had no idea what I might find that fit the category. I wanted something obviously broken but not a complete mess. I shot this and the broken concrete sidewalk a few feet away but this fits better. Then Up the road I came upon something that fit the nature in black and white... mmm. Both with the 50-135 f/3.5 AI-s.

No Curtis only an idiot would do that. But If I need to imbibe anything a 16 year old single malt could tempt me. You my friend need the 35-200. Your daily walks and having a macro capability is something you need!
Wow ! Nice Jay ! My FL is either 420mm or 1000mm. Btw I'm now using an ASIAIR Pro instead of a laptop. Everything in 1 app run remotely on smartphone or tablet.

The other computer involved is in a separate room...

I hope you're referring to the Lagavulin 16 year old single malt Scotch whisky...
Definitely, for rambling about a zoom lens is preferred, at least that is what I'm finding at the moment. I did a search for the 35-200 on E-Bay and found a couple of appealing options but it seems nothing is being shipped out of Japan at the moment. I even found a couple shipping from this country... but then sanity was restored. I need another lens like a need the proverbial hole in my head...
But one never says NEVER, right? At least not when it comes to manual focus lenses. I did, however, get notice of my next credit card bill and it was north of $1,400 which took my breath away until I remembered I bought a set of new tires for my Camry... maybe NEXT month...

My taste was always Glenfiddich and went thru many a tin in my life before I stumbled on “moonshine”, really! Lot cheaper and the good stuff is got its own taste. Now as far as the 35-200 goes you already have the reputation as the “devil” when it comes to buying lenses and that means you are obliged to hold up your end. You have no one to blame but .... yada, yada, yada!
I don't really have the time to shoot daily challenges, but am still actively shooting. This is a shot of the Colorado River Valley looking SW towards the confluence of the Llano and Colorado rivers on a recent outdoor day trip.
Nikon D700+28/2 AI-S, Colorado River Valley - worth noting that I rotated my front lens element unintentioally which fixed the lens focusing issues, but optical performance on this lens remains degraded from when I purchased it and in strong need of some CLA from an experienced tech. That's going to wait for now and I'll probably carry the 28/2.8 AI-S for now.
