I did very little shooting until this afternoon. A neighbor of mine and I spend the weekend expanding a nature trail for the neighborhood. If you can't go to the parks, bring the park to you. We now have a nice half mile loop that ties in to some bike trails that the neighborhood kids started at the beginning of the lockdowns. I think nothing beats being able to get in the woods and just have peace. Peace being relative with lawn mowers going and kids playing, but I will take it!
I did grab a few this afternoon after we wrapped up. Posting one below that can fit number 10. Nature B&W and number 2. Something Broken.
I sort of like the chaotic background of the old broken tree trunk.
Will post a few more as I process them. Found a surprise plant that my son identified. Coming later.
Here is a little treasure that we found literally growing in our backyard. Well close to our backyard. Spotted it today after our trail work. Luckily it is not right on the trail but within sight along a small stream.
It is the Atamasco lily (zephyranthes atamasca). It is native to NC, but I have never seen one growing in the wild. I understand they are not common in the area and according to the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service web page, it lists them as threatened in Florida and endangered in Maryland. So it was a real treat finding it.

If you go down the tracks about 100 ft and lay a metal bar across the tracks
it will make the signal active
Not that I would know
B&W in nature (though I did go to the local metroparks which are thankfully still open). Great big banners that say "This park will remain open as long as you practice social distancing". Good job people. 75-150 Series E.

How long did you have to wait for the train gates to drop, or was it just being in the right place at the right time? I really like that shot.
Hi George. It is a fairly busy mainline. The wait is not too long usually.
Thank you everyone for the comments on the railroad crossing.

#6 Special Significance - lots of memories and friendships shared on trips. Perhaps this pandemic will push me back to some more trips in the woods (good for distancing). 85mm f1.8H

Nice! Same here, can't wait to get back out for an overnight.
Sorry for my lack of contribution although I have been hitting the Like button a lot, especially with all the activity lately and the new challenge.
I have actually been super busy lately and not really had time for photos, although I have done a bit of astrophotography with new astro camera and gear.
Anyways, here's a few for the challenge -
Broken
As you can guess, I've been having a few electrical problems with the R1 !
Fuji XT-2 + 28/2 ais + FR
This is the focusing mechanism on my 8 inch newtonian telescope. XT2+FR+NKJ 55/3.5 micro with the new astro cam box in the background. ZWO has been getting a lot of my $$$ recently !
Beutiful shots everyone. I´ve been taking a few shots and mostly doing PPC. Fun challenge and very inspiring by watching in this thread
First off: PPC10 Nature b/w
Shot in a big park nearby my home. Taken with Nikon D800 and the Nikon 50-135mm f/3.5 ais. PPC NAture Something bnW by Kankara Karlhag, on Flickr
Then: PPC11 Close up with tubes. A tiny flower shot on out yard with full set of Vivitar tubes and the Nikon 55mm f/3.5 ai. It looks like something lives in the rainforest and preys on insects..

Feels like old times with this thread steaming along and newcomers arriving with their first manual focus lens purchase. Welcome Kris. We even have some photos taken with Nikki which definitely brings back memories. For anyone curious about the Great Nikon Lens Adventure, simply click on the WWW at the bottom of my posts. Alas the only person who can take photos with Nikki at the present moment is Leighton who received the lens as a gift from our friend Ben in Sydney.
It's a treat to see photos from folks working on the Pandemic Photography Challenge. I had an opportunity yesterday afternoon to take a ramble with the intention of finding suitable shots. I'll begin with the one some folks thought might be dangerous... shooting into a store window. I chose a shop downtown with our friend Reagan much in mind. He'd really wanted the challenge to include photos of women in bikinis but we knew that wasn't practical. So I decided to give him the photos below... taken with the 80-200 f/4.5 AI.
