Colin is taking the photo challenge seriously... reminding me of myself when I dashed through the TrekEarth scavenger hunt. You could very well be the "winner" Colin. It may be dinner for you and your wife at a restaurant near where I live... I'd even pay.
I printed the list and jotted a few ideas on it. I shot 3 topics on the same day. One at breakfast, one a lunchtime, and one in the evening. It didn't take too long. I have the list next to my keyboard as a reminder.
Being fast out of the blocks doesn't mean I will make it to the end...... work is really piling up at the moment!
To answer your question Curtis - yes I used a couple of blobs of butyl tape to shore up the cans of tonic.

Kristian, yes, circles are all around us... all we have to do is LOOK.
I must say the something damaged is enhanced by the presence of you shadow, but the scene is definitely ugly. I guess that is abundant in most environs also. We generally don't take photos of detritus. I'm going to have to try to find a creative way to present such a photo... likely by getting closer. I have something in mind, but I'm not sure how to approach it. I realize I did miss and opportunity this morning however to take a photo of the bowl of oatmeal I was about to eat. It is NOW eaten... I think Colin has set the bar pretty high with that plate HIS WIFE prepared for him... ...Show more →
I can smell something else cooking at the moment (7pm local).
She is good to me, really good.
I am so lucky, and hungry - so see you all later.........
Trying the hat trick here. From my lunch time walk.
1. Circle
5. Day or Night Sky... what you see when you look up.
10. Black and white of something you find in nature
Bonus point because it is Earth Day?
Shot with a combination I never would have considered if not for the challenge. Fisheye-Nikkor 8mm on the Monochrom. The 8mm has a built in filter turret and I used the O56 filter.

I thought I'd take another photo inside my cottage, this taken while sitting in that comfortable "stressless" chair from Norway. I spend time there most days reading or doing this or than on a MacBook Air. This is also taken with the 20 f/2.8 AI-s. I may talk about the teddy bears later...

Most def bonus!! I was just thinking about how I should've added the Earth Day theme into the equation....Next time.
Nice one George!

Hopefully nothing broken or strained! Ligament strains are awful!

been absent after being annoying. Took a precipitous fall this weekend, distracted by my dogs and the pool vacuum, It really hurt and my left foot took the worst of it, but happily I am healing fast.
Glad to hear you're doing well. How many now? Last I recall you had two.

Here I am! With a family at home (mostly) there are minimal slowdowns in my corner of the world regardless of how the wider world has reacted! The children are all growing (too fast for my taste) and keeping Nikki (the wife, not the lens!) and I busy cooking, hiking and exploring (fortunately we have access to a few good walking paths and a 400 plus acre municipal park full of walking trails that haven't been shuttered), schooling etc. All the trappings of a home full of children! My trusty AI-S lenses are still along for the ride and getting plenty of shared time on my D700; the 58/1.4 G noct can't push them to the curb (although it has been a deliciously fun lens to use as I've learned the quirks of focusing a lens with such high spherical aberration on a non-mirrorless body). One of these days I'll get around to checking if my diafine is still good so I can develop my small backlog of B&W film. It's been a fun 3 months as I finally developed 5 years of C41/E-6/ECN2 film (it all was freezer stored before and after shooting and turned out great) and developed a bunch of my older medium format rolls that had set for a few years (also all good!).
I haven't posted many pictures in ages. I finally gave up on Ubuntu Linux LTS 18.04 being up to date enough for my new hardware (it wasn't) and caved and installed Windows 10 and found a FM'er selling a LR6 license so I'm back to ingesting photos as they get shot again. Odds are good I'll dual boot Ubuntu 20.04 once it's had a couple of months in the wild as I really enjoyed Darktable as a processing alternative to Lightroom. I was still learning the catalog side in Linux as Darktable doesn't have all of the same catalog features. I do still need to figure out an alternative to hosting my images online since I'm such a small user. I've mostly been shooting pictures of the kids and don't really have much in the way of outdoors things to shoot/share right now. Once I get caught up bringing in the rest of my 2019 images, I'll have some things to share.
It's been work as usual for me either by day or night at the rocket ranch (for which I am very thankful, several folks I know are less fortunate) so I haven't seen any extra time at home over the past month. I'm still looking to occupy Leighton's trade one day though.
It's good to hear from folks here. I haven't forgotten you and fondly remember the banter, images, and friendship even though my time to participate is very low in this season of life. Take care of your immune systems (sleep, sunshine, vitamin C/D/A, zinc, good food, exercise), spirits, and of course, your lenses because there's never a bad day for shooting MFNG!...Show more →

So to the photo challenge. I guess if I'm co-author I need to at least make an attempt. I decided to take a photo outside the front window of the cottage I've referred to in the past and thought since I've mentioned it a few times I'd take a wider shot that shows a bit more of the front room. This is a studio cottage so the front room is both bedroom and living room. I made no attempt to straighten so you'll see a cluttered surface a couple of bags. Grocery stores don't allow us to bring our own bags to the store so every shopping excursion results in paper bags... at least until recently when I told them to just put the food back in the cart. I put it in my well used LLBean canvas bags.
My Df is sitting in the trunk of my car but my much loved D700 was waiting on my kitchen table to be put into service. I mounted a lens I have used in years, the 20 f/2.8 AI-s. So this is my home and the view outside my main window... In all honesty I'm more than content living in less than 400 square feet.
Hi all! It's been a while....
I hopped in because I had a skype chat with Curtis a couple of hours ago and he told me about these pictures taken from home. Sounds like what we did a long time ago with Trekearth. I don't do much a shooting anymore, maybe I should try it again some time, and at least post a photo from my home.
Anyway, it's a very nice capture Curtis, and very well known to me. Which is too long ago it seems, that was back in 2015, the time we spent in Yosemite!
I hope you are all in good health, and please stay that way.
Greetings from the Netherlands, Rinie
Hi Rinie! Hope all is well with you too! Yes, break out the cameras and lenses, and see what happens!
Be well!

And yes I know from the purists that I will get -1 point because it is not Nikon on Nikon
Posting a shot of the setup anyway
Keeping with the monochrome theme. Shot with the 24mm PC-E
-1 for not being Nikon only!
+10 for that gleaming lens sample, and for the Leica.
So +9 George!
Rafael, feel better!
Rinie, wonderful to hear from you, and one of my quick skims through the pages I believe I saw something from Alan (Huddy) too. Great to see posts from old timers at the thread and hope everyone stays safe!

Very sweet George! But what I want to know is whether this was just a setup? Two out of three of those challenges were ones YOU suggested...
Regardless of how we got there you did a brilliant job putting it all together. Kudos!
OK. I am forcing myself to do this challenge, at least one shot per day. I wasn't able to shoot yesterday as I had a nice migraine...
I also did a thing... This is for those folks that are shooting on Fuji, using a Zhongui Lens Turbo II and Nikon glass. This chart shows what the focal length of the lens "sees" using the focal reducer and what you need to set the in-camera lens data to be, in case you use the in camera JPG's (barrel control mostly).
