Allen - Love it!
Rocky - neat rendering on those shots. Is an OUFRO like an extension tube for M cameras? Which lens on these? Leather work is such a cool thing.
Ron - sorry I stole your battery. We should have some sort of equipment trade program here so we all don't have to keep buying each others' gear.

Hahaha, that's pretty awesome, but that's not the shirt!
It's a black shirt that just says 0.95 in white.. I swear I'm not imagining this.

Robert (did I get your name right - burningheart?) - great thing about winter is I can explore the marshy area near home since it's all frozen over.

Yes you did.

Technically I could cross the creek but since last years floods I am no longer familiar where it is safe to cross since the path and the under terrain of creek also changed.

Gary, very nice M8 series! I do remember them well here With the lack of UV filtration, the B&W renders beautifully.
Thomas, nice captures with the X2!
Peter, wow...superb set!
Manoj, beautiful images and work! The 50 Cron Rigid is a magic lens
Ron, congratulations Great stuff, of course, and love the lighting in shots with the 50 Lux.
Phil, excellent find!
Rocky, very nice, and it sounds like fun I am still puzzled how the OUFRO works!
Allen, excellent composition and play of shadows with light!!

Thanks guys! Ron that's awesome, would love to see some of her work. I do a bit of leather crafting as a hobby. Gary the oufro is just like an extension tube, it will let you focus a lot closer and is stackable. This one is shot with a nocti at about 25cm. Charles I actually bought two of them and I'll be happy to lend you one if you're curious .

Here are 21biogon from Huangshan,

We were barely be able to climb up the mountain. These guys carrying 50-100 lbs living stuff send to the hotel on mountain. There are four 4star hotel on mountain plus many smaller ones, their everyday living stuff all sent by these people. On mountain, it is very cold with strong wind, but their sweating like rain. life is tough for some people. Respect!

Ron, lovely colours from your new camera.

What a coincidence, two sets of sun stars from Zhangyue and Ryan. I'm surprised that the MM doesn't suffer from the same sensor column bloom as Zhangyue's camera.

Thanks for the comments and likes!

If anyone is interested in the rest of the pictures from this year vacation, I just uploaded my favorites to the website. This is not a try to get more traffic, but I don't want to show all the pics in the forum as I do on my website. Hopefully you understand......

Zhangyue, thanks for the flowers, but he is just so handsome ! Yes, he is a real darling with a wonderful character.

I just noticed, that if I check all my uploads to the forum, that they now can be viewed by focal lengths. That's great, is this new because I didn't saw this in the past? I have always thought, that it is kind of sad, that all the pics are buried in the thread. Now the users can view the uploads and can draw a personal conclusion what other do with the different lenses.

Gary you sure captured the essence of kids playing with the boy and girl on the makeshift slide. The wonder and expression in their faces as the girl anticipates to be the next to slide down that concrete is a priceless moment.
Do you still shoot with the ZM 35C?

zhangyue very nice the 1st shot with your position and perspective, I can almost feel the load the carrier is having to bear and the struggles as he ascends the steps almost reaching the summit. I also like the inclusion of the sun.

ryankarr when I first looked at your image I was taken by the balanced of highlight and shadows, and how when moving from the fully lighted areas into the shadows my eyes kept be teased with
'keep looking there is more to see'
and as I drifted more into the darkened area which at first quick glance was just blackness my eyes adjusted and I could see little details I had not noticed. The geometric shapes and lines nicely tie together. As I backed away from the picture it was something I thought would be a scene I might see locally, then I saw Calgary in your profile so it just could be. Really nice shot the MM really delivers nice B&W.

Thanks Robert. That pic was actually shot from the hip and I was guesstimating the focus and framing. I also like it. I sold the ZM35C when I started my foray into Leica glass. It was my first M mount lens and I really loved it. So small, sharp, and contrasty. You do know if you keep hanging around here you will eventually end up with a Leica - correct?

You are probably correct on that point Gary, especially since my foray into Lieca glass occurred several years ago with the acquisition of some 'R' glass to use on my Dslr's. Of which the 70-180 APO is part of my main stable for landscape shooting. Coming here and to another site that has a forum just on the Monochrom are great places to get educated on the Leica M240 and Monochrom and see images created by these cameras and the various lenses. .

Thanks! I also noticed that in Michael's photos. I believe it's a CCD thing as I got the same results with my Canon 1D years ago. Last week I shot a job on the M9 where there were bright strobes occasionally in the edges of the frame, and got sometimes got nasty green streaks across that half of the frame. Again, something I also got with the 1D in similar situations.

For sun-in-frame images with the M9 I found that exposure was critical. Stopping down a lot helped, as did underexposing somewhat

Michael: yes, some people's lives are no walk in the park!

Here are a couple with the 90 Summarit on the M240:

BTW, it took only two cold weather outings for a ton of dust accumulation on the sensor. Must be the low humidity and static electricity? Luckily it all blew off fairly easily.

Other than technical difference between camera, I believe big reason for it is the operator Think back, I might just let highlight blow up and no pull back. I don't have time to set up exposure, I was in EC -2/3 and huge back lighting. I saw him passing me, I click three times at the same time focusing before he is too far away for 21mm lens. In process, I think other than pull back highlight, I was boost exposure by 2 stop plus lift shadow close to +80, that is tough for any camera not to say Leica The reason I choose to pull back highlight is to keep the sun star. anyway, I might be able to do better with PP I think. But I like the image and story for sharing.
Ron, your images continue impress me as ever

Thanks Robert. The weather in Calgary looked OK (low -22C) but Banff was supposed to be real cold. You should pick up a Leica - you just may like it! If you get the M240, you can adapt your Costal Optics lens to it. That would probably be a first!

Gary that was a very haunting thought you left me with. I started looking at what adapters there are for mounting various lenses to an M and there sure are a lot. I stumbled upon a site where a guy was using old Canon FD lenses on an M-240 and from the shots I saw I thought the colors were nicer than the Sony A7r-FD combo. Then I ponder on the Monochrom again, with the adaptability the possibilities increase dramatically. A couple of good Leica M lenses and I see a terrific rangefinder system with the additional ability to also use other classic lenses.
