Peter, stunning shots, #1 and 2 are my favorites from this set, especially #2, like a color version of Ansel Adams Any behind the scene shots to share? Did you use a tripod and cable release or grad filters? Also, did you change lenses out in the open cold weather?
Micheal, some excellent shots from your vacation. The fish shots are stunning, great eye! You didn't bring along the A7? I have lost track of all your current camera systems.

Joe, tell me more about Om2n. I heard it has big viewfinder, but that is it, Want hear more. It is never late to learn new thing/tool.
Yes, the viewfinder is large and clear, not as bright as the Leica M but much bigger, close to my S2 viewfinder. That alone makes it enjoyable to shoot and the size of the viewfinder and split focus screen makes it feel kind of like a rangefinder to me. Some of these older OM lenses shoot quite well. There are fast and sharp glasses such as 21/f2, 50/2 macro, 90/2 macro and also interesting lenses such as 50/1.2. I never owned the OM system in the past, so it was out of curoisity. Paid just over $100 for the body and lens. Camera feels somewhat like a Leica film M, metal, slim and nice to use, smaller than the Nikons and Canons SLRs of similar vintage. You can read about it on many sites. The quirk is that the shutter speed dial is on the lens mount collar and its not a mechanical camera, won't shoot without batteries. The OM-2n is the one to try. The original OM1 was launched as "M1" but Leica complained and they changed it to OM-1 Some writeup here: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/olympusom1n2/om1/index.htm http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/olympusom1n2/om2/htmls/index.htm
C.D., thanks for the info but I think one film SLR is enough for me I actually have two other Oly 35mm cameras, XA and the Stylus Epic. The problem for me is the small 135 negative size and with developing and scanning cost, it makes more sense for me to shoot 120 format. Maybe one other 35mm camera that interest me is the Konica Hexar AF. Apparently the 35/2 lens is similar to the UC-Hex 35/2 ltm?
Did you recently modify a 40mm Summarit to M mount? Sample pics to share?
All this talk lately about M8's has got me all sentimental…. Here are a few from a couple years ago that I don't think I have posted. Seems like it works quite well for B&W.
Joe, I certainly understand that. I just couldn't let my Olymous OM1 and OM2 go!
I did modify an Summarit 40 from my dead Minilux P&S. But I had to send it back to Japan as the focus ring came loose after just few days. When I get the lens back, I will share some images on this thread.
Since I am traveling alone and have only one body with self timer, I can't offer any working pics, sorry! I have thought about this many times, because I really would liked to have one my self. I have a excellent fur ruff on my anorak hood which was many times icy all over. The camera body it self was icy because of breath and moisture coming through my woolen mittens. Certainly some nice poser pics :-)
joe88, I didn't use any filters and used the self timer function of the M9-P. The tripod was not used all the times but very frequently, out of the stomach I would say 60% tripod and 40% hand.
Just try to catch up a little:

zhangyue, very interesting and creative shots! Because of the drops and the positions of the fishes I love the first most.
manoj, like your detail shots from this interesting location on page 894 and 895!
Joakim, very nice set...like particular the two last ones. Great b&w conversion!
Leonasj, very authentic and natural shot! Since you pointed out the fishermen's, to me there is very little relation to them in your picture which draws my attention to them.

uhoh7, nice set, like especially the portrait and the wildlive encounter!
Katie, very lovely set...like each of them! You are a very attractive woman...I hope it's not a problem saying this
ashnz, sweet setup....congrats!
Zhangyue, bif with a M ...respect!
Ron, congrats to your new M
Gary, great set...like each of them!
tophoto, nice usage of diagonal lines!
Seems like we're all buying from each other! I just received Ryan's M camera leftover accessories.
Gary - these images look great and B&W is very suitable IMO.
Thomas - looks good - what do you think about the X2?
Peter - thanks - looking forward to more images from you. I wonder if it would be worthwhile presenting a portfolio at the Lumas gallery a few doors away from the Munich Leica store? You probably have a salable series with these snow-covered trees as well as your Alps photos.
Some more from a couple days ago with the M240 down in the woods:
Ron, I enjoyed the few hours I spent with the camera. carrying an M with me everyday and not owning an AF camera currently, it was nice to use a small compact that seemed to focus quickly and accurately when set to the the single center AF point. I did not have the VF, and I caught my self lifting the camera up to my eye more then once, so I think with that addition and the grip, it would be a very nice street camera. Though for the price new I'm not sure if I would choose it over say a used Sony RX-1.
Ron, have never seriously thought about selling my pictures, but why not. Let's say I would try it, the way would be, that I get maybe 10 of my favorite pics printed, put them in a nice presentation map and show it to them?
absolutely gorgeous 100% wool mittens for photography!!!!!
Peter: Thanks for the kind words. Loved the snow series on previous page. You should take Ron's advice seriously Great photos above as well.
Thomas: Loved the first one. Checked you flickr stream and you have some nice photos. Superbly processed. Something I gotta pickup.
Thanks for the data point Adam! I guess my camera sits somewhere around late summer. Not so bad.
Peter - I'm not exactly sure how it works with them. Maybe start off with a selection on a laptop or iPad before spending money on printing? I suggested it because I think you've got great images that would be popular, and another Munich photographer I follow on Flickr started selling his work through Lumas. But I don't know how he set it all up.
Manoj - great continuation to your travel series. Beautiful colors and details!
Here's the last few from a couple days ago:
M240 and 28 Cron for all.
As a side note, it puzzles me that we've had below freezing temperature constantly for maybe two week, but yet, in a couple sections of the ice I crossed, there were soggy spots. Maybe the recent and thick snow covering adds insulation and allows the warmer water underneath to melt the ice? It's just a really queasy, uneasy feeling to be out in the open and see your feet sinking into wet slush... I just remind myself that the marsh isn't supposed to be deeper than 2 feet in most places... and immediately move closer to the shoreline.
Hey, does anyone remember this photo of Seal. He was wearing a 0.95 shirt while performing in concert.
Can someone post a link to it.. It thought I seen it originally on thorsten or steve's site, can't find it though.
The blogger who posted the photo actually mentioned that he was wearing a shirt that made reference to the lens.
BTW, great images guys! muc_marlin love your doggie!!

Great images everyone! I especially love the colours from Manoj's series. Peter great to hear you're back, I really like the later series with the trees. Your processing is honest and beautiful. Ron congrats on your M240, how are you liking it so far? Thanks to Ryan for selling me his OUFRO, here's a test pic. Some wallets made of shell, calf and hybrid.
Ron I like your bullrush shots, and the colours reminds me of a favorite place of mine that I like to shoot but alas last years flooding took out a bridge I need to cross to access it. At least I get to enjoy your shots.
Peter that first dog shot I like how you capture him/her looking off in the distance and I wonder what he/she is observing.
Manoj the carpet shots has nice contrasting colours and I like how you caught it with the shuttered door closed in behind the centre carpet.
Robert (did I get your name right - burningheart?) - great thing about winter is I can explore the marshy area near home since it's all frozen over.
Rocky - love the rendering of those! Do you do leather work? My GF is getting into it as a hobby. Could also use an OUFRO for better close focusing. Seems I really did get the scraps of Ryan's M sale... missed out on that one as well as his extra battery...
