I think I remember seeing that sign place on TV show once. Really interesting. There are graveyards for signs, planes, all sorts of things in the desert.
Did I ever show this image? There's one more sort of in the set, I have to pull out sometime...

Wow, both fantastic Rayyan! Of course the second one is the winner with the little girl. I should remind myself to ignore my girlfriend when she starts nagging
Thanks Edward. But never ignore your girlfriend/wife/partner..it pays in the long run!!

Charles, Edward, Joe and jamgolf..thank you guys.
I do not know if patience is a virtue or just a waste of time. Let you guys decide. Two images taken minutes apart; while my wife was screaming for me to move on..

Very nice. Did you add a lot of clarity and/or contrast?
Tnx. I did PP in DxO and PS so I didn't use clarity slider. I played with levels / curves and adjusted blacks in Selective color. I might have added some Hiraloam sharpening at the end ( do not remember ). That's pretty much it...

Love the colours; I miss the colours I get from the M9-P... M240 is different... not that I dislike or hate it. Anyways, this is just the nostalgia side of me talking.
Tnx a lot. Didn't have chance to try M240 yet. Many say it is different...I am keeping my M9 since I am really fond of it...
I wanted to ask you how you feel about your 50APO? How do you compare it to other 50mm lenses you've used? What does it bring to the table for you? What is it's defining quality? Does it have a signature i.e. can you tell by looking at a picture that it was taken with 50APO?
I've read the few reviews online but I just wanted to get a real user's opinion.
(BTW - I am on the waiting list realizing it might take a year or more to actually get one)
I hope this question and your answer will be helpful for the readers of this thread.
I wrote a lot, and erased, and then wrote a lot more, to again erase.. But to sum it up, I feel the rendering of the 50APO is a lot like a balancing act between the things I like from Carl Zeiss (mainly the ZE line) and the things I like from Leica.
So for me, someone who straddles the middle line for being a Zeiss fan boy and a Leica fanboy, I feel the 50APO is the perfect lens.
Comparatively, it's as sharp or sharper then most lenses I've used. The bokeh is never bad, and the colors and contrast are fantastic (when there's no flare issue, but apparently my lens has been fixed so time will tell).. I really like the realism, and the pop, but I also enjoy the fact that it's subtle and has a soft-mood. Would prefer if the build quality were slightly better, and would like it to focus closer (pipe dream for rangefinders I guess). But really a great lens in the hand, size and weight are nice. I have to test the t-stop of the lens still (vs the lux/noct/and a few other 50mm lenses I have from various manufacturers), but I'm sure it's around f/2. Anyone have a more scientific method of doing it, other then me using a light meter and some duct tape?!
About the wait list... Yeah seems like a long time, unless you get lucky. Apparently they've only made a small handful, and apparently about 7 of them have been sent back thus far for fixing thus far. I was told that the raw minerals / glass is really hard to come by / manufacture properly. So it just really takes time to build up a stock pile of glass to produce and or fix lenses. So yes, I don't think it's false demand (like Hermes). Speaking of Hermes, anyone have an in with a sales associate? I'm sure someone on here has to ply their wife with gift, considering the amount we all spend on cameras/lenses!
