Rich, did you order the A7/R for use with your R lenses? I have not been following the A7/R threads much, too many of parallel threads and noise right now and besides, I don't want to get tempted into getting one

Hi Joe,
My A7r is scheduled to be delivered later today. After it is here I will have to charge up at least one of the batteries and try to figure out the menu set-up, etc. I just did the latest firmware update for my Phigment Leica M to NEX adapter, but my only M-mount lens is the Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens. Paul, from Phigment has made a modification to the adapter and at his suggestion, I expect to send it back to him on Friday, so I am not going to have the adapter or access to use M-Mount lenses after that for probably about 2 weeks is my guess due shipping both ways and the update. In the meantime, I will be using the camera with my R lenses.
I may well try to purchase a Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 if the one I am particularly interested in is still available a bit later in the month. Also, at this point due to all of the issues with the WA M-mount RF lenses, I am considering the CV 21mm f1.8 Ultron lens which I may purchase sometime as early as mid January.
In the meantime and until I get the 28mm and 21mm lenses I have my R 21mm f4 Super Angulon (which I really do not think is going to be good in the edges and the corners), the R 24mm f2.8 Elmarit (which I suspect will fare better than the 21mm Super Angulon), and the R 28mm f2.8 Super Angulon PC (which may do OK at its ideal apertures of f8 and f11; I had purchased this lens particularly for PC control and also for flat stitching of images).

Look forward to seeing your pics Rich. Also - what is the going rate for a 28R Elmarit V2 these days? I would love to try that lens out...
Gary,
Thank you. As to the rates on ebay at this point the R28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 seems to be selling for around $2000 and some much more than that. It is a desirable lens. But I do not think that it had a list price or the performance of my R 100mm f2.8 Apo Elmarit. I only paid about $1600 for the R100 Apo before the release of the the M240 last year (maybe the 1st quarter of the year or so).

I think VF-2 has the same lag as LCD but what I dislike most about the EVF is that it is buggy, even after firmware updates. The screen sometimes hangs or shows weird refresh/line skipping, and sometimes the contacts come lose and I have to push/move the EVF to get an image to show. This is with the cheaper Oly VF-2 though, not sure if the Leica branded ones have better QC/ It does work great where I can tilt EVF for composing hard to shoot angles.
thanks for that 411, joe..it's that bad, huh? i'm gonna try to hold out a little more for Leica to support the VF-4...but i think i'll break down soon enough and buy the Olympus VF-2 (i doubt the Leica version is any better...it's the exact same EVF, after all, sans the branding)

Fantastic shots from Gary, Joe, Zhangyue, Ron, Fursan. Thanks for the kind words Ron and Joe.
I find iso 800 much better on the M9 than on the A7, not in terms of strength (the A7 has less) but quality (A7 noise looks very ugly)
i agree with this. i have the D600 (Sony sensor) and I RARELY pull up shadows for the same reason...somehow the noise is different than what i was used to with the M9...and fortunately i don't see this issue with the M240...although i maybe a bit biased...so take that with a grain of salt
I wanted to ask you how you feel about your 50APO? How do you compare it to other 50mm lenses you've used? What does it bring to the table for you? What is it's defining quality? Does it have a signature i.e. can you tell by looking at a picture that it was taken with 50APO?
I've read the few reviews online but I just wanted to get a real user's opinion.
(BTW - I am on the waiting list realizing it might take a year or more to actually get one)
I hope this question and your answer will be helpful for the readers of this thread.
I do not know if patience is a virtue or just a waste of time. Let you guys decide. Two images taken minutes apart; while my wife was screaming for me to move on..
Wow, both fantastic Rayyan! Of course the second one is the winner with the little girl. I should remind myself to ignore my girlfriend when she starts nagging
Love the colours; I miss the colours I get from the M9-P... M240 is different... not that I dislike or hate it. Anyways, this is just the nostalgia side of me talking.
