Adam, this depends on how challenging it will be. For example last weekend I was with the mtb and a small 28 liters backpack on tour, therefore I had everything with me, even the MP and a tripod. If I am doing a not so difficult day hike on a summit I will take probably everything as well, but only one body. When I plan to overnight, or multiple day tours in the Alps or Scandinavia, where I need all the other stuff, then I will take three lenses with me. The exception might be a longer winter tour in Scandinavia with a pulk sled, where I will take everything with me. Time and experience with all the lenses will tell. From the past I know that I like longer lenses on summits and when I am more in the valleys with a nice cloudy sky, I like to use wider lenses. My lens kit will be finished with the APO 135 and I like the idea of mixing all five regularly, because then I have to work more getting different pictures and don't fall into a routine making always the same pictures. Like taking on a summit just wide angles and try to make them work, find other and different views, like the ones I already have. Well, that's my thoughts right now.......
Very nice work here. Especially like the graveyard shots and the kites.
Spent the last week or so in Luanda, Angola, for work. Unfortunately didn't have an opportunity to explore, so photos were taken through the dirty window of a moving bus. Interesting place with very friendly people...
Thanks Gary. The event last weekend was called "Meeting of Styles" - they are worldwide events so there may be one in Canada at some point. Some amazing art, including two huge pieces on the front of the main building.....the large eagle by Anat Ronen caused a bit of a stir....it had a ball and chain around its leg and was interpreted as a political piece....
I use a 35mm Summilux ASPH 95% of the time, but I also almost always crop my photos
Thank you all for the comments and 'like'.
Ryan, your summaron is just like 8 element cron's twin, The OF area is very similar at wide aperture Great color on the set.
Charles, 50cron rigid has been great in your hand. I can see the new lens always bring its owner some new perspective and inspiration.
Gary, that hotel shot is great one. no wonder everyone 'like' it
Josta, nice color in your set.
Peter, Excellent as always, but the first set in pg 798 is really great, I especially like that blue water one.
Andy, the BW shot is really really nice, especially with people in the back. I'd like to correct perspective distortion to give it more 'impact' on frame.
leonasj, the 18zeiss looks great.
a few 35cron V1 from last Sunday. had only about 20mins walk around the playground during the kids were sleep in the car, then wife called me.....
I need more time shooting!
Sunstar
took 5 shots to get the star and flare under control. anyone know the trick how to get the sunstar. I know stop down and shoot bright spot, but even that, I only get one out of 5.
Thank you Michael! You are right about having a new and unique lens. The 50 Cron Rigid has given a different perspective, and hopefully I will have my 50 Cron Rigid DR back next week for my trip to Bali.
Superb series!!! Great compositions, themes and PP'ing
Josta, great graffiti set
Another portrait shot at the beach. M240 50 Cron Rigid. B&W conversion with Exposure 5.
I'm not sure you really need more contrast, at least in the color version. The M9 has a bit of a higher contrast, slide film look, but there's nothing wrong with more of a "negative film" look, either.
Gary, great shot! I really like both the B&W and color, but I do prefer the color. I prefer the balance of the warmer tones of the train at the front of the shot receding to the green and blues. I feel the B&W may need more contrast against the trees being green. A orange or red filter may well suit
