Thanks, interesting, I always assumed the VM 50 1.5 was supposed to be close in rendering to the 50 Lux ASPH but that has a totally different character. That crop at least
We spent the weekend with family in the seaside town of Levanto. The big house on the rocky projection into the bay was our home for the weekend. It is one city north of the famous Cinque Terra cities. The train is packed getting here, but empties out at the last of the five cities. The American accents also disappear, leaving primarily Italians going on to Levanto.

Did you tried to improve the local contrast with Photoshop sharpen tool and gain 20%, radius 20, levels 2?

Your and others earlier contributions helped me improve in exposure when shooting, scanning, and processing. Thanks to all.
I will also try your new suggestions as much as Lightroom allows. I am not processing in Photoshop.
