On my Christmas Eve photo outing during a heavy downpour I was caught in the Main Square called Garibaldi Plaza named after the famous General and explorer. I took refuge under a covered area across from the main building. It is painted in what is called "Parma Yellow" and seen on buildings throughout the city.

Many mornings I am out along my driveway in Tucson waiting for dawn, before dawn, many minutes before the Sun actually rises there are a few brief minutes when the light is amazing, it is bright enough to see good colors, but the colors take on a different rendering that appeals to me. I have been trying different lenses and different approaches. Today I was out with my M11 EV1 and the Leica Noct 0.95 trying to see if it captures those magic light minutes when the firesticks that turn red when the weather cools and glows a vivid red, and agave green takes on a different and appealing color. A few minutes this will last, not much time to get photos and then it passes, the light or the mixture light and lack of light is gone for the day until tomorrow. The noct is an amazing lens if I can learn to use it- the M11 EV1 will help. I saw a youtuber talking about this lens and how it took a dedication of months to learn how to use it.. how true.
My last shot today was a street portrait of this amazing young Italian woman with lavender hair. I almost walked past her because I was headed home for the evening and the light was so low. Glad I didn't. M11 and my 21mm SEM. Who says that 21mm is too wide for portraits? In close quarters like this if you keep it level I think it is a fantastic lens for people. It is all I shot today.
First day of sunshine in a week. The storms this past week brought of 9" of rain and the high winds knocked down a cart full of branches from the big oaks by our house.
