Ryan, that first shot with the 90 is superb! Lovely composition and rendering!
Luka, congrats on the 28Cron, hope you like it as much as many of us do on this thread. Nice first outing!
Charles, really excellent series with the 35Lux II! Lovely horse too! And the second set with the 28Cron is outstanding!
Phil, more magic with the 50 1.0, beautiful B&W tones! The car shots with the CV25 are also fantastic!

I haven't been taking pics lately, probably because my brand new Dell computer crashed twice within the first month of buying it and has yet to be fixed.. damn Windows. This will probably be my last Windows PC, ever.
The X1 has very nice IQ I use to own one and it is a superb small camera all around and probably the best P and S camera I have owned. I would consider the new Fuji x100 it has been touted as a tad better in the IQ department and price wise is about 40% lower than the X1, I bought Steve Huff's actual X100 yesterday that he did for his review on it:
I will be getting it soon and am pretty excited, the prices should also drop in a month or so when more shipments come in and demand decreases and the hype settles down , also I noticed a price increase on them from B and H ?
Forgot to give kudos to
a) PHil - my goodness! Gorgeous pics! Where is this magical place ?
b) Luka - wow! i think the 28 is in great hands - anyone want to buy a mint condition 28 elmarit? On a more serious note, really admire your compositional skills. Any tips would be appreciated!
c) Charles - the earlier series is gorgeous too. The ones of the beach are perhaps the best colour I hvae seen from your very talented hands/eyes!
Nice wedding environmental portraits Charles, lovely sun light
I am still getting used to wider lens and the stops of the 25, need to prob shoot wide open more often to separate the BG, but I love how this lens sucks up detail!
Charles, nice horse series. You're not exactly picking inexpensive hobbies Great beach series as well, #3 is my favorite
Ajay, the IQ of the X1 is its strength. The RAW files are a bit different than 5DII files - more headroom in the shadows, less in the highlights. The lens (24/2.8 Elmarit ASPH) is a good one. As for the rest of the camera, well, not brilliant, although they have improved it a lot with the latest firmware.
The obvious alternative is the X100, but from what I've seen from it so far I'm seriously underwhelmed by the IQ. In that department the X1 seems to be much better. Mind you, the X100 is probably a better camera though in terms of usability.
Anyway, pictures... The first two are from Sigtuna, a small town some 40km from Stockholm. It's one of Sweden's oldest towns. I was hoping to take some pictures of a couple of 11th century church ruins. However I came too early and the light was very harsh and unsuitable for that type of photography. So I just took a stroll through the town..
I then continued to the nearby baroque castle of Skokloster:
Luka - love what you were able to get in your first day with the 28 Cron. The contrast and colors are what I love about the lens so much and I see you found that immediately as well. I was going to pick which ones I really like a lot but it came down to just about every one of them. I agree it is a weird length at first but it really grows on you.
- Your second set is just marvelous! Wow! I love every shot. I must say, the last one with the Lux is my favorite . The canon shot is great. Every one of them, perfect composition and processing applied. I feel that so far what I have used this lens comes closest to Zeiss ZE/ZF line in terms of microcontrast/3D effect. What is your feeling on that?
Charles - Horses and Leicas Now I know why you are able to get which lenses you want without a fight from the lady . Like the horse shots but the second series is just fantastic! The colors are great. My favorite is the 28 Cron shot but I also very much like the 90 APO shots...especially the second.
Phil - great to see more Noct shots! Really like the first one, perfect PP for that shot. Really like the car shots too....great to see some classics
LL - Nice shot. I never would have guessed Irvine . I like the bokeh on that lens very much
Luka, I think the boat shot shows that the 28 Cron has some magic, even though it is much more subtle than the 35 Lux ASPH, but the last shot is gorgeous, just amazing light well captured.
Phil, thanks Beautiful spot, right break And yes it pumps!!! It is where a lot of the pro surf events are held, between Kirra beach and to around the point at Duran Bar beach.
