You managed low light so well here, did you limit your iso to 640-800?

I love my m9! It's only after shooting 400 rolls of film the last couple of years that I appreciate it that much more. It has the most film like rendering of all the digital M's. Like you said, technically it's the worst full frame M available, but one of the best in my eyes.
I just took a short trip and took my m9, m7 & Mamiya 7ii. For every picture I shot on film, I shot on my m9. If for no other reason than to see how it compares.
Here is that same shot I took on the m9, but with the Mamiya 7ii on Velvia 50.
While I did edit the m9 file to resemble Velvia 50, it was quite close straight out of camera.

Haha It’s great! I do concur with the notion that it’s the most film like rendering you can get from a digital camera and do stand by that statement, it is no myth.
It’s a camera I just love more and more, it took me some time but now I can’t fathom to part with it.
Glad to see that camera still getting some appreciation.
Never used this photo before but looking at it today, I thought about it’s immediacy: I took it while walking, without stopping — a “no viewfinder shot”, the camera hanging on my chest, the framing made easier with the 21mm lens. People often talk about “meaningless street photography”, of which there is a lot on the web. I don’t view this image in this way.
Like the previous image posted above, another “no viewfinder shot” nightshot. With no street lights, many streets in Thailand are lit up at night only by fluorescent lights on food carts, which creates wonderful colors. A cinematographer friend told me that there are handheld ciné lights that hold a bank of fluorescent tubes — used because of the portability and the type of light they create.

It's always the same song. Somebody buys something expensive new gear/lenses and immediately start posting something one can do with any cam/lens instead of waiting/learning what to do/post different with the stuff. I'm so tired of that.
