This upcoming Wednesday evening I am scheduled with my local photography club to shoot the Super-Blue Moon rising over the San Diego skyline. Since my Wife and i were driving nearby yesterday I decided to test whether the Leica would be a good camera for the event. Unfortunately no. My Leica setup doesn't have long enough glass to do the job properly. So, I will use my Sony A1 and my long lenses. I will probably bring the M11 just for other opportunities while I am there.
We drove by the closest point to the skyline and I shot this image out the passenger window. Even at the closest point available on Harbor Island I had to crop in to make the shot even mildly successful. Thank god for the 61 mpx of the M11.

I've noticed that the Leica CL digital does not get a lot of love here. I've owned mine for about a week now, and have been really impressed with the colors coming straight from the camera. In addition, the standard vario-elmar is a much better lens than I expected...

Welcome to the Leica threads and to the Leica World Bruce. You will find us supportive and welcoming no matter which Leica model you have chosen to shoot. Your photographic skills are well known here on FM. I am looking forward to see what this new perspective brings to your image making.
Be warned, now that you have dipped your toe into the Leica experience the infection is likely to spread and affect your wallet in meaningful ways.

Thanks Steve... you are quite kind.
I am stunned by the design simplicity and emphasis on minimalism in this little camera. It is a shame that Leica decided to abandon the CL line again. I used the original CL w/ its two matching c-series lenses during a chunk of the 90's. Much like my new camera, it was an "also" body that accompanied a bag of Contax gear that was centered around the Contax ST and RTS.
I'm hoping that this new to me CL camera will inspire me to get out of my comfort zone a bit.

Can someone please check the forum by-laws? Are crop sensor cameras allowed?
Spending a couple of days in NYC following a visit to my mom for her 90th birthday. Born and raised in NYC, I watched the construction of the Twin Towers as a kid. My first visit to Ground Zero was an emotional one.
