Very nice Allen, I like these types of shots that goes outside the norms of composition. Adds additional drama to the shot. Although I know the background(read your write-up) from just the image alone it makes me imagine in my mind what caught her attention. Adds suspense and drama. Great job.

The first shots with a new Leica Q at the Tuesday farmer's market. After a lifetime of SLR's and then even heavier DSLR's the Q may take some adjustment but I think it will be a good adjustment.

A few with 50lux. I feel like this is one of the gems of the Leica lineup. Such consistent results....

Nice Gary. If I could keep only one, it would be the 50 Lux.
The only thing I don't like about it is the occasional 'buzzsaw' outlines in highlights when stopped down a bit but that's nitpicking really, it's a gem.

Very nice set Charlie. the 2nd and 3rd particularly.
A dress rehearsal I'm guessing, or you got yourself some great seats there?

Some architecture with my (ever wobblier) 28 Cron

coogee - I like the symmetry in your last series!!

uhoh7 - Good atmosphere.. Being on duty isn't to bad when all you have to do is take pictures!

Gary - I have a love hate relationship with the 50LUX. I guess we're all excited to see what Leica delivers on the 20th! Great that you can get consistent results with it. It's not an easy lens to master.

p.1221 #14 · Leica M/X/T/S/Q/CL/SL Picture Thread

Don't think I posted something from that day yet.
It's a "straight out of camera" jpg file. And what I mean by that is, I did NOTHING to it. Just resized it in Preview for Mac. So it wouldn't be stupid big on the forum.

The actual jpg and RAW file is super sharp on the eye. No easy feat actually. Since the DOF is so shallow. I can shoot an image from the same distance and see the middle of the eye lashes sharp, but the tips would be OOF and the roots/eye/skin would be OOF. It's frustrating when I miss focus on the eyes, but it's rewarding when I nail it. Obviously the trick would be to stop down. But the problem with doing that is, the look of the lens changes. It takes on a different character. So keeping the lens wide open is almost necessary for the look I'm going for. I think people who have owned the 75LUX would understand. I'm sure uhoh7 (Charlie) would agree. Stopping down the lens isn't bad at all.. Just different.

Again, this jpg doesn't really show what I mean (sharpness wise), but it's a good idea of why I'm really starting to like the 100S rendering. And I'm only really writing my thoughts as it may be interesting to some of us Leica fans. Since it's really just a shot to understand the look of the lens/camera rather then a shot with any real meaning or thought behind it.

If you're interested in why I like it. Pay attention to the hair on the left (my wife's right). I like the kind of hazy OOF look. I see it in the 50APO and a lot of other S lenses. But in combination with the style of bokeh it's hard to get from other lenses. I've also tried a number of "hollywood" style filters in the past, as well as LR tricks. It's hard to strike the right balance. And none of the Canon/Nikon/Sigma/Sony lenses really do this for me. So I guess I'm stuck with Leica, for better or for technologically-inferior worse

TY everyone. The shooting is pretty fun, Editing and organizing is alot more tough
I shot 2 dress rehearsals. I took some wider options the second time, using a 24/2 nFD on the A7.mod, which let me capture the whole stage and get a different look. I shot the 28 cron a bit also, both at f/2.

Lovely Joakim and Coogee, #2 and #3 really something. Great work there.
Very nice portrait, Adam. Very interesting to see it right out of the camera. I did shoot alot with 75 Lux at this play, but did not dare to shoot it wide open, lest I miss. At f/2 already I miss plenty. If I had A7s.mod I would shoot it at f/11

I had a similar situation with our family portraits we had done three years back. The photographer PS'd out all of my sons freckles on his face. I was so disappointed and they couldn't understand why....

Joakim, love the fog shot. Classic.

Adam, fantastic rendering from the 100S.

Charlie, great stage work.

Allen, beautiful street photos as usual.

I shot this couple of hours ago with the ZM 35/1.4:
