So this is the haul:
The lenses mentioned, a gorgeous M2, a Gossen meter (think it was sold as the Luna Pro in the US), the close up attachment, some filters, a flash (not pictures), and a nice aluminum case. 21mm finder and hoods. The lenses look absolutely flawless, focusing smoothly etc.
Nice haul, and ready for immediate use. The Elmar is a classic, an excellent performer, and is fixed in a modern barrel: I have the f/3.5 in the old barrel, and the f/2.8 in the modern barrel. The (dual scale) Summaron is pure gold, and my favorite lens period.
Really fabulous shots here the last few pages. I won't single anyone out but will say in almost every post at least one shot has made me stop to look more closely.
And I'm very jealous of the "haul". What a kit!!!
Did some commercial portraits of the new Aboriginal Land Council in our area. The M works great with a wireless flash trigger (in this case a single Godox 360 with a socked beauty dish). I didn't do the focus recompose thing very well though and had to cut a few because i didn't breathe in before pushing the button (breathing in forces you back just the right amount). But I did find a calibration I like for the M240 with skin in the collection of VSCO stuff I never use.
The 90mm is about the only M lens I have without a UV/IR filter on it and I did have to fix the fabrics in these.

Been toying with them a bit and I have to agree with you on the Summaron. What a lovely little piece of glass. Draws beautifully and is nice and sharp even at 2.8. Focus is a bit stiff on it so will see if it loosens up with use or if I need to send it off for a CLA. The other lenses are excellent too, the Elmar in particular surprised me with how wonderful it looks already at f/4… the 90 'cron is out of this world. All the lenses have flawless optics; the person who owned them apparently had them in a case always, and only took them out for shooting before putting them right back in the case afterwards. I am truly fortunate to score such a find!
Good stuff guys. Yes, the 35 Summaron is the real keeper in that batch, worth 800 by itself. I think that must be v1 of the 21 and not sure which 90. Very nice buy.
As well you should be. You will have interesting times ahead as you discover the good, and not so good, of your acquisitions, and I hope you will keep us posted on what you find.
On a recent trip to Atlanta my girlfriend dragged me along for an afternoon of shopping, and in order to make it tolerable I took with me the M246 and Lux 35 to this high-end furniture store in Buckhead. I would call it a successful shopping trip when you can get out of the store with a good image or two without buying anything.
Lots of great shots, I am no good at/not good enough to, single them all out but I love the portraits flash, your subjects look so comfortable, it really shines in the shots.
I really like #6 airfrogusmc, a nice triangle of where everyone is looking, plus the mysterious shaded face back right too.
As I type (from my crappy little office) I can hear the ladies toilet flushing Charlie - and it isn't a Honda Mountaintop facility! - much prefer your 'office' to mine, amazing landscape and sunset colours.
Great energy and treasured moments canerino, I want the man to have a head though!

Thank you. I will probably send the Summaron for a CLA since the focusing is a bit stiff (the other lenses are super smooth); found a guy here in Sweden who's worked on Leicas for 50 years and seems reasonably priced. I do miss having access to Youxin Ye when I lived in the US though; he used to CLA bodies for me for 95 dollars which was a steal... but it's a bit costly to ship back/forth internationally now.
(I also have an A7II + Leica M adapter in the mail. Will be interesting! But this thread is for Leica bodies only, right?)
Yes, this thread is for Leica bodies shot with any lens you choose. However, there is a separate Sony forum on which you will find plenty of discussions and images related to lenses adapted to the A7II. I have an A7r, which I use only occasionally, but I look in on the Sony forum from time to time. You will find plenty of discussion about lenses and adapters for use on Sony bodies, and some outstanding photography over there.
I hope I can get lucky with some nice photos.
