Question to you guys: I have received an offer to purchase a Leica M2, 1960s goggled Summicron 35/2.8, 1950s? Elmar 50/3.5, 1980s Summicron-M 90/2, 1980s Elmarit-M 21/2.8 + a pile of filters, bags etc for a little under 2k, all in apparently mint condition. From what I've figured this stuff ought to be worth a good bit more than that; ANY reason at all not to jump all over it?
Thanks for the love on the last image, all! It is currently featured on Leica Fotografie International's website as a "Leica Master Shot": http://lfi-online.de/ceemes//page/show/449

Figured as much. It's a pile of gear a guy inherited and put up for sale without having a clue what to ask, so I emailed him and suggested he gets it appraised so nobody rips him off, explained how to check for fungus, operation etc. Passed on a list of what these items have sold for recently so he'd know roughly what he was sitting on. Got a mail back a day later thanking me for everything, and that he really didn't want to deal with selling off things since he doesn't know anything about photo gear, and knowing he could make a lot more offered me the whole mess for two grand. So hopefully he won't change his mind before next weekend when we're supposed to get together...
Will be interesting to see what else I'll get with it, all I got was "a lightmeter, a bunch of color filter things, and a pile of other stuff I don't recognize".

You're doing wonders with the monochrom and the voigtlanders. I'm thinking of picking up the 28 ultron to fill my wider end (using a 50-80 at the moment) because of your shots.
joakim, I'm using a B+W UV on it. Used such on all my previous lenses and never got such "bad"/unqiue flare, or maybe it's a combination of lens and filter. I bought the lens used and it came with a leica UV, but that one was disgustingly difficult to clean.

pingflood - hope you pick that lot up!
It's not the filter.. It's the lens. The 50ASPH doesn't flare very often, but when it does... Holy heck is it ugly.
I've had it happen with and without filters. I generally switch between the B+W Nano (clear and UV) and the Leica UVa (depending on my mood... Well not really, but explaining my process for what filter I use and why is pointless and boring, and weird).

Love the deep red lines in this one!

M2 + Summicron as a kit will fetch you around $800-1800 (pending color/condition)
Elmar $300-$500
Summicron 90/2 $1000-$1200
Elmarit 21/2.8 $800
(filters could be another $100-$500 depending on how many, and bags are always fun if they're quirky and made from quality materials like leather).
And these are just rough estimates based on what I'm currently seeing on the Singapore forums then translating into USD amounts.
I'd do it, just for the heck of it. Worse case scenario keep em all and have a bit of fun with film

Well, I was considering selling my M3 with the Elmar and keeping the M2 since I'd like to have 35mm frames (without resorting to glasses).
I arrived at roughly the same as you price wise, and who knows, there might be some bonus item (seems like some more unusual Leica accessories go for silly prices) as well. The Elmarit-M seems to run closer to 1200+ in these parts though.
I have finally done 3 presets on LR6 so I can batch process my images quicker. 2 of them are very similar. 1 was ripped off some VSCO kodak preset but made less VSCO and more to my taste, though it's only good for certain situations (as filters are..I don't think any of the pics in this set used this preset) Sorry if I sound like I'm speaking about overly simplistic things, still new to all these filters/sliders and stuff. I used to just shoot SOOC Jpegs (with tweaking in camera) I know this isn't a critique corner but any dropped comments regarding the colours/tones will be taken note of.
I also noticed some dust at f4 when I shot some cityscapes, which is also new to me because I've been spoilt by the sensor cleaning of the D300 and D800 and the non interchangeable RX1 before I sold them. Would using a rocket blower suffice in the long term since I don't think i'll be shooting greater than f5.6 most of the time (and most of that time wide open, just the occasional bright daylight stopped down stuff) ?

Thank you! The 28mm f/2 is very hard to beat for $400. Good build, very solid. Good optics. Just a really nice all around lens!
Edward wonderful set
Allen, Canerino and Reims, really nice BW last page
aFrIcanSH I like the set last page, flare and all, and this page better yet
Joakim, excellent weeds
