I'm much more of a lurker than poster, even more than usual, but certainly enjoying the stellar images on this and a couple of my other regular threads.
Sensor cleaning: my first M9, bought faulty, was sent back to me after a very long Leica-induced delay, but with a new sensor (not the original problem) due to Leica's extreme generosity. I made the error of checking the sensor for dust after only using it for say 30 shots. My attempts at wet-swab cleaning with pre-loaded Sensor Swabs resulted in having to send it back to the repair centre for a professional clean. I don't think I am game to try my own wet-swab cleaning again. I've also got that sticky pad variety but didn't like the 'degree of stick' it applied.
Having now been reminded of Arctic Butterfly again, I checked prices. US pricing: $130.50 (RRP) and a mere A$239 for a local purchase (ie US$180). Why local Australian suppliers expect us to pay such exorbitantly marked-up prices is beyond me, especially since B&H are now doing very reasonable shipping rates to Australia.
I love looking at the images here, however when I see my own efforts I largely resile from posting!
Thankfully I was given the day off school today by my instructor so I could run in my annual race at Dinosaur Provincial Park. Afterwards I usually hike and photograph. Today was no exception. Monday back to the books.
