Hey Edward,

One word.... WORK...

I plan on getting out this weekend for me. Two jobs today and it's been like that all week. I don't post a lot of my commercial work here.

Glad to know that Allen! Hope to see some of your exquisite street work soon, especially with the C-Biogon

Thanks again for your advice and I am surprised at how much I have been liking the results from this little lens. It is so small and light yet surprising sharp and I like the way it renders. Leica says at lest 7 weeks on the Lux so I am glad I picked it up. Just bought a step up ring from 43mm to 46 so I can use my filters.

Cleaning your 240 sensor. I clean all my other cameras myself... but, I guess I am still somewhat precious with it.. should I just bite the bullet and do it myself? Do you guys have someone do this for you?

Watch some youtube videos, get several swab sizes, order 99% isopropyl or the like and.....attack!!

Go for it Richard. I have cleaned all my cameras sensors since new with no problems. However, I have never once needed to do a wet clean which carries a bit more risk if not done properly. I use the Arctic Butterfly which works just great for dust removal. I say to gently clean it yourself and then see if any wet type treatment is required.

Robert - congrats! Did you preorder from TCS?

I have ever only done wet cleans on my SLRs. I will have to try and get one of these - it sounds good. Tiny bristles which are statically charged and rotated. Sounds like a lot less of a faff compared to the wet swabs I usually use as well.

I've only really changed to the 50 a couple of times for playing/testing. So it was a real annoyance to find a GIANT 'fleck' at the bottom/center of the image when reviewing!

Thanks for the tips.

Richard I echo the thoughts of others in my experience with cleanings. Though mine is an MM I have used a rocket blower, Arctic butterfly, twice a wet cleaning and recently gently used the Pentax Sensor Cleaner for a difficult spot. I change my lenses often when out shooting but in large I found my Leica has not needed much cleanings beyond the Butterly or rocket blower. Compared to my Canon,Nikon and Sony the Leica stays spot free much longer.

Very nice portrait, Richard!

As far as cleaning is concerned, I have always cleaned my own sensor, and having tried most available options, I find wet cleaning to be the most effective. I have been using for the last few years sensor swabs plus, premoistened and individually packed. Otherwise, I use a blower bulb in between cleanings.

M cameras usually have an oil splatter problem from the shutter for the first couple of thousand shots. Beyond that a wet cleaning 3 times a year is enough.

I may just try a wet cleaning as there are 2-3 medium sized spots that remain. I just usually clone them out in pics. Mind you, it may not be oil but corrosion!!!
