Thank you genji,
probably because I prefer working in B&W... The light was poor, rubbish. In B&W, I can do what I like without breaking the atmosphere...

Just Leitaxed my new old 90mm Elmarit-R (Ver I) and ran a few test shots this past Sunday. This one is of my son after eating a plain pancake with some barley tea. D750 & 90/2.8 wide open

Hello Alpha_Geist,
nice shot, nice bokeh, any vigneting with this lens?
Hi Teiki!
I had to re-open Lightroom and check my other shots for signs of vignetting as I didn't remember seeing any when I processed the very few photos I took. After reviewing some photos, I still can't see much, if any, in my wide open shots. I'd have to shoot a plain white wall or muslin backdrop to get a better sense of the vignetting. However, as I currently see it, it's almost non-existent. The bokeh is very smooth and pleasing for sure! I'll have to shoot some still life as I intended this to be one of my portrait lenses. I'll share more when I have time and my kids aren't driving me crazy. :P

Took the 90mm Elmarit-R out for a spin earlier today on the Sacramento State University campus. First shot was likely at f/8. Second shot was either f/4 or f/5.6. Last shot was either f/11 or f/16. I don't remember.
Edit: I'm seeing some kind of (compression?) artifacts on the first shot that I don't see when looking at the original in Lightroom. Is this due to how Flickr compresses the file uploads? Should I disable a specifc Export setting in Lightroom that might be exaggerating this?
I'm surprised how well the Elmarit R 35mm can do portraits. Exceptional sharpness at all apertures and excellent color tonality certainly helps. If only it went to f/2 (yes, I know, then it would be the 'cron).

Just joined the Leica R club Bought a Leica 28mm f/2.8 Elmarit-R II and took my first test shots going home from work today. I really like the rendering and colors of the lens. Still very early days, but I have seen a lot of nice pictures taken with this lens, especially in this tread! So I am very optimistic.
This lens seems to make even boring light conditions and subjects look more interesting and real.
Excellent choice! The Elmarit 28mm/2.8 is a gem in the Leica lens world and perhaps the king of all wide-angle lenses. You'll enjoy using this lens and be surprised by just how detail oriented this lens is. Happy shooting.
