Leitz Macro Elmar R 100/4.0 turned out to be better than expected. It is decently sharp across the frame wide open, very sharp stopped down to f8-11,doesn't matter the distance, renders deep, bold Leica colours and shows only minimal, easily removable LoCa wo.Perfectly usable as macro and general purpose short tele.Tested on a grey, poorly lihjted, gloomy winter day.

My sweet Lord, the third photograph (of the ruin of the moated castle in Panków) is utterly remarkable. Such a perfectly integrated palette of white, gray, beige, brown, red, and dark tones. The bottom half of the picture draws the viewer in, the thin tree trunk denies entry, and the deep space in the upper half is compressed into a single flat plane. This is a kind of picture I particularly admire, in which depth argues with flatness.
