Just an experiment with Leica Apo-Extender-1.4x and Leica Elmarit-R 180/2.8 (II) non-Apo to make a non-Apo 250/4. I had the Leica Apo-Elmarit-R 180/2.8 but the non-Apo ver.II one is astonishing..

Here are three pictures taken with Leica Apo-Summicron-R 90/2 Asph Wide Opened. Two of them at contre-jour.
The second, and especially third, photos show far more LoCA than I'd expect in an APO lens. Especially one with such ridiculous pricing. It's quite surprising, actually.

You are right but that is why I took photos in contre-jour to show in extreme conditions the behavior of the lens. Actually, the faces are in dark and processing to get them lighter increases Chromatic Aberrations... I feel them well controlled with this lens W.O. compared to other lenses I have tried before (Canon and Nikon).. At F:2.4, a lot of CA is nearly suppressed, not seen any more after F:2.8..

I see similar things with the M version. IMO, the 100 APO or 180 APO is better in this department.
