Worldinlens - that's some pretty cool stuff. How well does the R80 work on that body?
Taylor, thank you! I don't know regarding lux80 (does not have R80 now). I guess all be fine. Most from R35 1.4, R35 2.0 E55 and R50 1.4 E55
This device have a terrible viewfinder, I think it came directly from the unknown hell Very dark, small, not clear enough despite the fact that it has a diopter adjustment. Im serious thinking to develop a large custom waist level finder. Some quick tests already done, without doubt it's very improving focus feeling

Gregg, thanks too
Solnishka in the green grass is beautiful.
As for focusing. The best way for the moment is to bracket your focusing.
Greggf, thank you. Philber, thanks, I have not seen posts from you in a while. Perhaps I have just not been in the right threads. I miss your photos of Paris.

OK...so I received an extremely great copy of the R 4/35-70 today, and Man o Man, this lens rocks!! Stupid shots around the house this evening, and then tomorrow, I'll take it to work. I might have to say goodbye to my Minolta MD 35-70 and my C/Y 35-70, too.
Here are a bunch, mostly sooc jpgs with maybe an exposure tweak, taken on my 1D4 since the A7 is on it's way to the repair shop
Thanks for looking,
Gregg
Hey>>>can anyone tell me who designed the 4/35-70?? The Wiki page I go to, doesn't say who?
not in macro, but closest mfd 70mm @f4
closest macro mfd @f4
sooc, with some +/- exposure adjustments
macro @f4
congratulating myself after a fine purchase!! 70mm @f4

Gregg, I loved this lens on Fuji s5
I guess by Minolta too but just found another info on one forum:
The Leica 35-70 F4 ROM lens was supposedly designed by Leica and certainly built by Soligor. AFAIK, Soligor is not related to Kyocera
That is not correct. Both the last 35-70mm f4 Vario Elmar and the 80mm-200mm f4 Vario Elmar lenses were both designed by Leica and were both made by Kyocera. The Leica 28mm-70mm Vario Elmar lens was made by Sigma.
Regrettably, after just a little over a month of ownership, I sold the Leica APO 100mm today to help fund a lens purchase I've been wanting to make. I truly wish I could have kept it too but the wallet wouldn't cooperate. The good news is it sold to a great FM member whom I know will put it better use than I did. In fact, he may already be participating here with other Leica glass?
Also, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your talent, advice and the incredibly inspiring images I get to enjoy every day. Although I will be unable to post images I'll definitely continue to check this thread daily and admire from afar.
With that said, here's a few that I did have the opportunity to shoot the past month. One thing is certain, I'll have another Leica 100 back in the bag one day. It's a outstanding lens with amazing IQ! If you're on the fence wondering if you should get one. Do it!
Keep in mind, these are hosted on Flickr and their algorithm does crazy things sometimes. Also, ignore the EXIF data as it's incorrect (user error). Finally, I don't think I have posted these before but if so, I'll delete this post. Enough already... here's some photos.
