Greggf, great shots with the 35-70. That beer bottle shot is incredible. Sharpness of focal plane looks like most lenses do at f/8, but the background bokeh is as nice as any f/2.8 zoom. Wonderful combo.
Thanks Jim...Looking forward to using it on the a& when I get it back!
Here are some more macros with it from today on my 1D4. All are sooc jpgs, which I might add, aren't as good as jpgs from A7, btw.

Wow!! I guess this is just going to become "My" thread til someone else posts!! More R 4/35-70 Macro. This lens is taking a little to grow on me...whereas the Contax 35-70 is dead sharp and with lots of POP, this lens is much, much more subtle, and not quite as sharp as I'd like at long distance...at least what I'm getting out of my 1D4. I think I'm just used to the A7 sensor...it's so wonderful!

Did a similar shot with the RCron R 90 with close up adapter stopped down...this one wide open at f4
Here are 5 images cross posted in the Sony A7/A7r/A7s Image Thread;
These are images that I took yesterday and last evening. The first is of a hawk on the fence behind my house (Breinigsville, PA) taken about 150 feet away outside my sliding glass kitchen window. Image taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 280mm f4 Apo Telyt lens with my Leica R 2X Apo Extender and my Sony A7r camera. Image taken wide open with extender for effective aperture of f8,
The second image is a close up of the hawk cropped from the above image.
The remaining 3 images are of Queen Anne's Lace wildflowers taken at the Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA late yesterday afternoon/evening with my tripod mounted Leica R 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit lens and my Sony A7r camera.
I still use R with DSLR a lot, my favorite combo for my family pictures. I feel the 80/75lux's magic happen at close distance, after 3M they are noticeable sharper, but it is also more similar to regular 80-90ish range fast glass.
Michael...beautiful Lux shots of your daughter!!
Tri Tran...very nice 35 Cron shots...I miss using one when it was loaned to me!
A few more R Vario Elmar 35-70/4 macro shots. This lens is really growing on me...can't wait to get my A7 back, so I can really compare it to the Contax and Minolta 35-70's I have!!

And a few street shots where I deliver. Nice street with tons of rich people that work in Silicon Valley. Very nice houses, with mainly ocean views throughout, and one celebrity, too!! If any of you follow(or used to) SI swimsuit or your significant others bought clothes from Victoria Secret...Marissa Miller lives on this street with her family!

Very nice photos, some of these look rather positively "film like". VSCO or something else?
Thanks. The color is a hybrid of VSCO Portra 800 as my starting point, then tweaked with a little MastinLabs Fuji 400H and Portra 800 settings mixed in.
Those Kodak things paired with Leica lens are just ridiculously good. Most of these pics you almost think you can reach into the picture..
(those dust spots would drive me mad tho )
Shame nobody makes sensors and CFA's like Kodak used to.
That super4/3 format you have is what I always wanted Olympus or Panasonic to make. Tho Pentax 645D has 44x33mm, so it probably has same ratio (but its not Kodak).
