It's been really bad weather here the past days, so I've not been out that much trying out my new lens. Finally I got myself a 85mm-ish lens: The 80 Summilux-R for the A7:
Learning how to use the new to me Summilux and it's characteristics.
First, on my way home, Zurich main station. The new, lower part has just opened, four extra tracks way below the ground, to add more capacity. Got to explore that part of the station once with my camera. For now, these will do:
Sony A7 - Leitz Wetzlar Summilux-R 1:1.4/80mm
80mm, 1/250, f/2, ISO 100
The lens is said to be sharp from f/2.8 on, and indeed, that f/1.4 shots and f/2 shots are a bit softer. Ok, even if soft - what a nice blur in the background! Let's bring that a little bit more in focus:
Zürich, Tief-Bahnhof Löwenstrasse, take II
so you see where the tracks lead to - out into the light, of course
Sony A7 - Leitz Wetzlar Summilux-R 1:1.4/80mm
80mm, 1/125, f/2.8, ISO 200
I was surprised - focusing on the departures list, using focus magnification, I could READ some of the text! Impressive! This is (sorry for the technical ... stuff in here) a crop at 100% of the not sharpened yet image, f/2.8, ISO 200, 1/125 hand held:
100% crop of the above
one can read the hours/titles
