Yes, the resolving power that some of the later R lenses have is remarkable.
They have resolution to burn on the 5D2's 21 MP sensor. And they will really come into their own when the next generation of 28-50 MP sensors start showing up. People are really going to start appreciating just how special the R lenses are then.

In case anybody is interested: someone in Germany is selling an Apo-Macro 100mm
3-cam for 700 Euro (the lense does look used, but what the heck) and an an Apo-Telyt 180/3.4 for 450 Euro, which looks very decent.
The lenses were put on the Leica Forum 'Classifieds' on Oct 11 with an expiration time of 6 days, but as the adds are still there, anybody interested should give it a try.
These were taken with Leica lenses. We took the high road from Santa Fe to Taos. First stop was Chimayo. Pilgrims come to Chimayo church to dab the soil on their ailing bodies to heal. (Photo taken with Leica 19mm f2.8 V2 on 5D Mk2. Look ma, no moustache distortion :-))

By the way: how did you manage to mount leica 35/1.4 on Canon FF? I thought it was impossible

PS: after posting this I noticed that it really took a sharpness hit when downsizing from the full file size to 65KB which is what Lightroom reduced it to. I don't have CS5 on this laptop I have with me in Seattle...so I had to resize with LR3. I think CS5 size reductions have a better look to them, and you have more control over the quality settings.The original is really sharp.
Thanks Anon. This is a very beautiful shot. And sharpness does not really add, I think. I wish I could keep my 28mm 2.8 v2. It's so sharp and so contrasty but my CFO veto'ed. Next time :-)

The vignetting with the 19mm Elmarit on cameras with FF-sensors seems to be inevitable. Mine does it too with a Nikon D700, but you can do something during PP, if it is really necessary.
Anon, I regretted already and would buy it back in the future. Its photos always made me sit up and notice.
Thanks Madamasu. Yes, vignetting could be easily removed. Most photos were as-is from C1 raw editor default settings. When stopped down to f4, it will be gone. I left it in my photos as it adds rather than subtracts, IMHO.
