Very nice world. From what I've seen, Nikon seems to have the best rendering with the R lenses. I might have to consider one of these for my D600.
Thanks, but be careful! Then it is very difficult to stop!

I don't know very well math English . Perhaps come Carsten to help us and he will be able to correct my assessment regarding A-mount design of Sony Corporation
I think you said it already: it is very difficult to replace the Sony A-mount with a Nikon mount, due to the design of the backside of the Sony mount. Still, you had the mount designed and sell them, so it is possible. As far as I know, the only disadvantages are 1) no auto-aperture, 2) no AF, 3) no EXIF and 4) no lock for the mount. 1), 2) and 3) are the same with all alt lenses on any camera, and 4) is fine with lenses that are not too heavy, since the mount is designed to be very snug.
Edit: Ah, I missed the Nikon-Leica connection. This is possible for many lenses, and of course, ZF lenses would work too. There are many interesting possible combinations for the Sony/Nikon/Leica lover.
Edit 2: I think I misformulated earlier, implying that Aleksandr has a Leica mount for Sony cameras, whereas he has just the Nikon mount for Sony cameras, but he can also change R mount lenses to Nikon mount, for several interesting lenses.
With chipped A adapters, you can get EXIF and SteadShot, so you'll lose both of those if you replace the mount. There's a couple of companies that do custom mount replacements (sans electronics, of course) and I considered going this way, but having a stabilized 35 lux and 90 cron when I'm caught in bad light without a tripod was too big a draw. That, and I want access to the other mounts that can be adapted to A. The R register is too long for anything else.
Carsten, today is Friday, and your help was need in this:
"Because the design of the rear landing side of SONY-A mount is made through complete ass in the third degree"
I'm not sure that "third degree" is a math correct in English

Congrats on new lens! What is your camera body? My chipped adapter is almost useless on 5D2.
Thanks! It's a Sony a900, so it'll be a Leitax adapter with a James Lao chip.
Have you tried the Leitax Canon adapters with chip? That's what I was using pre-Sony and they were spot on as far as focus confirmation. Expensive, but worth it.

I still prefer focusing screen though. I just feel it faster for me. My only experience with Leitax was the Rokkor 58/1.2 mount. Leitax does offer high quality conversion products.

Oh, yeah, a good focusing screen is the best. Have you used an 850 or 900 with the M screen?

Congrats Brad! Look forward to seeing your shots with that fine lens.
Thanks, Wayne! It's converted. I won't torture everyone with shots of my stove, windchimes, and wall-hangings, but man is it sharp. Looking forward to tomorrow.

I wish I could, but never have the chance. None of my friend owned A850 or A900. If the alpha mount has shorter flange focal distance as EF, I'd consider buying one. To get every lens Leitaxed costs a fortune.
