Those look cool! That bottom one is 28mm? What, you had your bicycle seat raised REAL high?

Yes Bifurcator. Both are 28mm.The second one I shot from the hillock in front of the building and applied some perspective correction as well.So no,my bicycle is not that versatile

Two more architectural details taken with Planar C/Y 135/2 on 7D (again not from the bicycle)

teh_rebel: Your copy of the 50/1.4 is wicked sharp wide open! I thought mine was in a good condition but I don't think I'll get my images that sharp. Not that sharpness is saying everything - the transition from sharp to oof is really nice in your shots. The nieceportrait is sweet!

I got to exercise my C/Y zeissen a bit over the holidays so I'll bore you with a couple of shots!
One of these days I should start using the shrink-by-bit/sharpen/shrink-it-some-more etc iterative routine in order to really get some decent web-sized jpgs.

Cityscape with the Distagon 28/2.8 @f/5.6 or f/8

The shot itself is not that great but the lines and contrast ... gotta love the Distagon!

And there we were, hiking in the rain, didn't dampen our spirits. I was amazed at the depth the Planar created here @f/2

Some really beautiful shots with contax lenses!

Planar 50/1.4 on 1Ds
excellent lens on FF, i never liked it so much on 1.3 and 1.6 crop bodies

#1 no contrast added, only brightness reduced a lot from original shot

My experience too - though I already liked them on 1.6 crop but they really start to shine on FF. I must say that even my 17-40 does much better on FF than on the 20D (even though in this section of the forum that is not to be said of course ).

cheers,

Hmmm why would I go to the US to see a dutch windmill? Oh wait - there's one just around the corner from where I live :P
I'm joking (well, not about the windmill - there is one within a coupla 100meters (sorry, metric over here!) from where I live) - nice shot. Though I feel something lacking - it is sharp but is it me or don't I see the Zeiss magic?

Yesterday I got my 50/1.7 back (it had been on loan to a friend for over a year) so I'm planning to have a go with that one too in the near future. I never actually used it since when I got it I immediately gave it to this friend as I already had the 50/1.4.

Realized I had another fine Planar 50/1.4 example:
C/Y Planar 50/1.4 @f/1.4 (as can be seen from the OoF highlights)

^^ very nice. im debating whether to take the 50/1.4 or 50/1.7 to San Fran trip in a couple days. i kinda like the 1.7 for the wide open sharpness but the 1.4 sharpness isnt too bad either.

I see you are probably kind of fed up with Dutch windmills. Here in US it is an attraction though, and it is somehow good to know that this little place has Dutch roots

More nice shots indeed!

@mMontag: nice colours on #2.

Naah it's not that bad - the region where we live is quite devoid of windmills, save the one round the corner. Every now and then I take a bit of anti-histamine and everything's ok again

So I've heard there are quite a number of Dutch-rooted places around in the U.S., some of them allegedly even being really nice. Never actually been to one so it's all hearsay.

cheers,

It has been a while to post on this thread. Great to see more beautiful shots being added.
Also happy to see more CY28 examples !

Here are some from recent weeks.
All with CY28 on Nikon D700.

At or close to wide open

At about 4 or 5.6

And some inspired by Philber's Paris Opera shots with ZE28 in other thread.

I have question to all with CY 50 1.4, are there any who has converted CY50 1.4 with Leitax to Niikon ? If so, what was your experience ? Did you have to shave off the back of lens barrel?
I have been sitting on the idea of converting but hesitating due to the fear of damaging lens.
