They would stop in the air momentarily, then move fast to another stop location. Neither AI-servo (while moving) nor one-shot (while stopped) can capture them. I thought 1Ds2 could do it. No luck yet.Check this out.
Euan Reid @Flickr. (For some reason I can not link it)
He has an image set dedicated to dragons IF.
While at it, why not view his Kestrel IF gallery too. Oh, I hate you. I regret that I looked at them
Let us try to commute that hate into love...... a much healthier feeling.
I believe Euan might have developed an obviously effective capture method/trick/stratagem in order to be able to come up with so many dragon IF shots all of which are of comparable high quality. Those aren't lucky nor fluke shots for sure, and I suspect they do not hinge on the use of any camera's AF Servo either.

Agree. I've seen stories on the wild-life docu film makers. Mostly perseverances plus some lucks and a little bit of cheating, something seemingly impossible can be done. And right, AI-servo won't get us very far.

Not on this board. In fact, the forward looking geared heads ought to be comparing 1DMkIV to 1DsMkIV. A shark that stops swimming invariably sinks.

Hi Petkal,
The 1dsmkIV is a long way yet, so we better enjoy the 1dmkIV first
