You are certainly correct in saying that any camera can take landscapes and a whole lot of other types of photographs. My point in starting this thread wasn't to really emphasize any particular points about the 7D, but to encourage 7D-users to show the pictures they've been taking as opposed to the resolution charts and 300% crops to show noise at high-ISOs that seem to be everywhere...all valuable information to be sure, but sometimes pictures can be a little more fun. For that matter, a "Post your 50D shots" thread would be just as much fun to look at! I'm

yeah i totally agree with that

From my first photoshoot where I only used the 7D.... Had it for a week or so and have only used it for behind the scenes vids... Decided I would give the 7D a shot. Looks pretty dang sharp to me... Not 5D Mark II sharp but still very good.

Lighting on this is A light shooting over her head into some foil for key and a large softbox for the tiniest bit of fill.

Would you care to share you lighting setup? I dig it. It seems that you had one to the left and one to the right of the subject? Any mods? The one camera left was probably more powerful, and quite high up.

thx

the main light had a 47" octobox with a grid and i had her step slightly in front of the path of the light so that it feathered her for a contrasty look... i had the kicker with a full CTO over a 7" cone to her back left which was about 5 ft away... both lights were up high.. main was about 3 ft from her face...

To Zenon and Canadajim--Wonderful shots! The eye shots are stunning and the wolf shot blows me away with how the camera managed focus on a largely hidden animal.

We are all seeing the advantages of the oft and wrongly criticized extra pixels in these crops.

Impressed by the Wolf, that busy background would attract focus like bees to honey, yet the 7D seems to have nailed it.

Mid day sun (harsh light) in a very ugly setting. I have since sold my 7d because I did not like the quality of the images and high noise at low ISO's, but it did focus well.

Thanks.
Adobe PSCS4. I did several panos on our trip and CS4 does an excellent job stitching and blending. Just a hand held job but it worked, tripods had to stay home.
