Lookin' preeeety darn good to me folks. I think I'll be picking one up soon - too bad I sold my 10-22 a few years ago so I'll have to get another one of those I suppose.

Thank you Zenon. I do find the 7D to be a little noisy, but that's to be expected from an APS-C sensor with 18MP. Don't have any complaints about the sharpness though.
Is that a sun shower out in the water? It's amazing!!!
PS CS4 is amazing for stitching. I routinely do 20-30 image panos hand held all the time, often in indoor low light and it always gets the stitches perfect. I think it's improved over the original stitcher which used to show some strange edges.

Mid day sun (harsh light) in a very ugly setting. I have since sold my 7d because I did not like the quality of the images and high noise at low ISO's, but it did focus well.
I've heard this a few times. What camera did you end up getting (or staying with)?
Sometimes we get spoiled by FF and 1.3x crop cams when going to small croppers.

It's a rainshower. The base of the clouds are just above. I have a vertical of the whole cloud. It got me wet about 10 minutes after the shots for the pano were taken.
I remember when PTGui was THE thing for panos and you had to select points for lining pics up and made sure the exposures were as close as possible for each image. A real time taking procedure. My things have changed. I just select the image and then let CS4 do it's thing.
The shower from the 11mm side of the Tokina, pano at 16 mm:

Yes it's the price you pay. I'll take resolution and sharpness over noise any day. Having all in order would be very sweet.

I'm giving up on the 7D. I haven't been able to get a photo that delighted me till now. Maybe the camera is too advanced for me, maybe I only deserve to upgrade to some xxD model. Either way ... the 7D will be on its way back tomorrow. Now, other than the 40D with its low-res LCD and preview image, I don't have a model to upgrade to, from my 30D, within a budget of less than $2000.

the main light had a 47" octobox with a grid and i had her step slightly in front of the path of the light so that it feathered her for a contrasty look... i had the kicker with a full CTO over a 7" cone to her back left which was about 5 ft away... both lights were up high.. main was about 3 ft from her face...

You've had the camera for how long...a week? Either way, what hasn't it been able to do for you that your 30D has? Not trying to convince you one way or another, just trying to make sense of your predicament.
