After several months, I couldn't be happier with my 7D! In fact, when I can afford it, I'll buy another one to replace the 40D which I use as a second body...
Wow, don't see any noise in the sky there even at ISO 400. What converter? BTW I don't have any low iso noise or banding either like the dpreview forums are filled with.

No converter was used.... shot was made with a 7D and a 400mm f4 DO

Hi Paul, nice shots. You may be better off using ISO 2500 than ISO 2000 for noise. The 1/3 stop lower ISo than native are always cleaner than the 1/3 stop pushed from native on the xxD and 7D.
I have not read of this before. Can you go into it a bit please as it seems contridictory to use a higher ISO to acheive lower noise while maintaing the same exposure.

Mardel--that's a nice series of hoops shots, especially the ISO 6400 shot.

I have to say that I am somewhat let down with the sharpness of my 7D images. I am a pixel peeper for sure and have been told you cannot pixel peep a 7D. Other than long exposure non handheld shots this is the sharpest, most detailed image I have been able to acquire. This is out of camera JPG with standard mode. I guess Im just use to the lower density, smaller megapixel images that seemed to show more detail.... I don't know. I am happier than my initial image results before sending the body back to canon but just not impressed.

^^^ That's a winner, nice capture.
The weather has been pretty miserable lately, so I haven't had a chance to really test it out yet. Here's a couple of my fat pooch, single 580 to the left with a small umbrella...

Hey guys,
as for using the 7D for landscape, check out Dominique Palombieri's photostream, he has some great looking landscape shots with the 7D. (I don't know him, just using his photos as a reference)
