i'm wondering though, whether these will come with a built-in AF confirmation chip, just like the voigtlander 125mm f/2.5 SL.

it will be a shame if they don't.

I thought the 20 was considered a bit of a poor lens? How does the 58 compare to the sigma 50 ?

By all accounts its no match for the Zeiss 21 etc, but who would expect it to be given the price difference? I have one and am very happy with its performance. Makes a great compact travel set-up.

This could be great news. If, like Zeiss, the EF mount is more expensive than the Nikon mount, then I will stick to my Nikon mount with adapters.

Certainly great news. The 40/2 is the most appealing lens in this group.

They should all do AF-confirm since they've got contacts to control the aperture like the ZE lenses.

Sweet! I'm really excited to hear about this! I've been eyeballing the little 40mm for some time now!

In fact, if they release the 58 f/1.4 in EF mount, I may go that route instead of the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 I've been having so much trouble with. (Despite how much I wish I could love that lens.)

If they review well and seem to be decent enough I'll buy all 3 and unload my 50 1.4 and 28 f/1.8 and put these in my small carry bag.

Does the 53,000 yen mean the 40/2 will cost ~$600 here? That is WAY too much.
Going by the Japanese price, the 20mm will be $640.

If this is true, then the EF mount if running at least $100 more than the Nikon. Wow!

I know I will be sticking with my Nikon mount and adapters at those prices......
