Even with the Nikon ZF versions, the aperture ring isn't really a problem as you can use it in Aperture / AiS mode without ever having to use the aperture ring.
The focus ring - which I would think is what would matter more, is actually quite nice on these lenses..... maybe better than on most Canon L lenses.
Out in the field with the 40 ultron the lens is just much better with the new adapter (although it still goes way past infinity) and the rubber band just makes the aperture ring so much more user friendly.
After using it in ernest today at the coast I found the IQ very good indeed mainly using live view to focus. When I got home and having viewed the images I brought up a folder with images taken of a similar location under similar conditions with my Contax 35 2.8 and my findings are that I prefer the Contax look. Like so many lenses it`s hard to define why exactly but whereas the Ultron is a very good lens with great corners and superb performance into the light with next to no CA and great bokeh but the images look just like a top notch slr lens has taken the images ( no problems there then you might say) but the images from the contax just have a little indescribable something extra thats sometimes hard to put your finger on. What would I call it? Pop! I suppose. Obviously with the proper Contax hood the contax lens is bigger but to be honest when your using a 5d2 + grip a few extra grams doesn`t seem to make much difference and the handling(to me anyway) is well worth the extra. Just my own opinion and YMMD. If I mixed up the images the average person might not notice that images were taken on different lenses.
Images taken on a 5d2 BTW.

Wouldn't take much to beat the focus ring on the (EF) 85L, that's for sure.
REALLY hope they re-release the 125/2.5 .... used prices for that lens are out of this world... now if they desided to make a lens like a 135/2 APO macro that would be sweet at well but I have a feeling Im way in lala land on that one ... in any case, a native mount EOS option would be nice... questions about adapter quality are always a pain (granted I guess us EOS users cant complain too much since we at least CAN adapt a bunch of lenses unlike other brand users).
Does anyone know of anywhere other than Cameraquest that might have availability and pricing info on these? I'm striking out on Google and would really like to get my hands on that 40mm, probably the 58mm too when it becomes available.
