Ken, Terrific photo essay. Nice job of exposing for the crow and the osprey together & moving at that. These shots are incredible. Hats off to you sir. Take care. Bob

I am so glad you explained the Holy Grail thing - I've seen it mentioned, but didn't know the translation. It's pretty clear why it is a badge of honor. This series deserves an award of some sort. I am in awe.

Holy Cow, Ken! Some pretty great shots, but they don't qualify for the Holy Grail. Have you not read the Holy Grail rules?
It has to be printed in National Geographic to be officially designated as Holy Grail.
Tony
I'm adhering to the original unabridged rules, Tony. That newcomer upstart that made all that noise earlier this year is the one that didn't read the rules.
Besides, I'm boycotting National Geographic ever since they rejected one of my flying pidjun shots for the April 2009 cover photo. They continue to go downhill every year
Mr. Zoom!!! these are breath taking and very inspiring series, one wait and wish for his turn.... truly amazing timing clarity what else i can say speechless images

Outstanding !!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive watched them many times fail. I also love it when they shake the water off mid flight. Great work and a great find !!!!
Heath
Thanks Heath, Like I mention there were a few failed attempts before it got it right so I got to witness several shake outs before this series. It was pretty water logged and you can make that out in some of the flight shots if you look close enough.
