Trying to catch up with some of what I've been missing... This series really caught my eye. Holy Grail alright, Ken! Way to go. I enjoyed the action throughout. What sharpness and clarity! I reckon several of these would be serious candidates for a few big competitions down the road. You should send them in.
I was going to say which one I liked the best but as I went through them I realized none of them are my favorite! Rather the whole package is my favorite!! Super job buddy!
I am in awe. I just joined the forum yesterday but have been lurking for some time. I can only hope that with much time and effort someday I can come close to your set. Now I know what I want to achieve, fantastic!
incredible work ken! The grail shot are best i've seen, and I really like #7 in the dive - you hardly ever see the diving shots. The whole series should win an award!
Very Nice Pictures indeed, Mr Zooooooom!!
May I ask where you shot those pictures?
I just moved to the OC area and looking for opportunity to see the Ospreys

Hi Andy,
It another good day out at SJWS - the kind we all look foward to. I'm not much of a contest person. I've won a couple two or three daily photo contests but that didn't excite me much. The recognition I get here from my friends here at FM is good enough for me.

That was the real intent, Mike. As stand alones they don't tell the whole story but combined together it's the next best thing to seeing it in video.
Glad you enjoyed them and thanks for your kind comments!

Thank you, Jeff. This series was a long time coming and I've spend hundreds of hours out in the field and shot tens of thousands of frames before the opportunity presented itself. Sometimes it's just being in the right place at the right time and knowing what to do when it happens. You should see all the terrific shots I've missed because I wasn't paying attention or didn't have the camera settings right

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your kind comments. My reward was getting the whole grail sequence in one take. I've got lots of bits and pieces in the past but never the whole series like this. That's rewarding enough for me

Howdy,
These were taken at the San Diego Creek across from the San Joaquin wildlife sanctuary (SJWS) in Irvine. Great place to shoot but the Osprey action is spotty at best. You might get lucky if you begin to frequent the place. They also have a lot of other species of birds that are worth persuing and it's time well spent. Also try the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach. Always something going on out there and a regular haunt of most of the OC shooters.
