I'll bet you darn near broke the speed barrier going home to download those pics after that shoot. My oh my,Ken----what a job in capturing something so rarely seen.

A great series, you've shown the whole deal here better than any video could. #10 is my favorite but not by much, they all look just right. Only next time tell the osprey to catch a trout.
Ken this is a very great capture of photos and in great detail. I think you did it perfect as did the osprey. For some interesting info on their talons for any one to read see my link on The Osprey. http://www.loubuscher.com/The%20Osprey.htm

Oh man... THIS is what I dream of. Someday man... someday.... Terrific series my friend!
Thanks Conrad. Just one of those right time - right place moments. Got's to spend a lot of time in the field but you'll get your chance some day if you keep at it.
Wow, what a terrific and thoroughly enjoyable series!
I am particularly impressed by how you've managed to keep focus on the eye even when a much larger wing is very much in front of his head, such as shots 13 and 14. Kudos to you Mr. Zoom.
Holy Cow...oops that my post. What FANTASTIC action captures Mr. Z Capone . These shots are only in my dream. How far were you from this? Great job.

Super set,Ken! I especially like #5,6,7 and 8. From what you described the Osprey's fish hunting behavior,
you'll get a pretty good chance to get a clear
shot when it hovers and then AF the bird's action from there. How far were you
from the bird? I wonder if 420mm is good enough to get a reasonable image size?
Thanks for sharing.
