Well you might be onto something with the Rokinon 85/1.4 because I have one sitting right here next to me and that ID ring looks awfully snug and happy where it's sitting. There aren't any ID ring notches etc....sort of like the Takumar's where you need a flat rubber grip surface to grip onto the ID ring but in this case you have a much more bulbous element to get in your way.
Intresting...so putting this shim/spacer between the camera mount and lens mount doesn't interfere with the boyonet EF mount...like make it stiff to latch? And what about any stray light entering the mirror box?

No. The shim goes between the mount and the barrel of the lens.
1. Remove bayonet mount from lens.
2. Measure and cut shim to size.
3. Place shim over mount points on barrel. (the shim will end up ring-shaped, with 4 holes in the ring for the screws to pass through).
4. Re-install bayonet mount on lens.
I'll document the procedure with photos when I do it.

Thanks for the reply...when will this be shown?
Actually, I would simply like to know what 35mm prime lens will be made...a 35/1.4 and/or 35/1.2? Also, roughly when will this product go to market?
Hope this lens will be at same level as Samyang 85/1.4(or better!!) - i`m interested in distagon 35/1.4 but it`s a lot of money for 35mm lens(i don`t use a lot this focal lenght). Btw Samyang Polish apparently replys only foreign emails.....next time i wil ask English

Not exactly news, Samyang have always said they're making a 35/1.4.
I could never figured out why people believed they would make a 35/1.2 and only for Canon. Wishful thinking, I suppose.
I am pretty sure at one point they indicated the possibility of a 35/1.2 for Canon because the mount opening is large enough to accommodate such a design. I do not have the exact quote. I suspect they tried a few prototypes and weren't happy with the results.

The original leak was for a 35/1.2, it then evolved into a 35/1.2 in Canon mount only and then a 35mm f1.4 in multiple mounts with or without an f1.2 version for Canon only.
The newer stronger-sourced rumours and the recent semi-official info from Samyang are all f1.4 only.
It's too bad I would rather a 35 1.2 than a 50 or even 85 1.2 anyday.
35 is my walk around prime focal length.
But if this lens can compete or exceed the 35 1.4 wide open it will still be very exciting. At the rate Samyang is making great optics i think I'll have a collection started in no time.
