3d effect variance between the two ??

BTW ... does anybody have a wheelbarrow for sale cheap ... I seem to just keep collecting glass ... never selling any ... do I qualify as an 'addict' yet?

I thought I read somewhere that this lens was optimized for around f11 (vs. 5.6 or 8) and was still really good at 16 ... truth or ??

It's f/8, I reckon, according to this (quite extensive) test:

Nice!

I still haven't had time to play with my wides on tubes. I also haven't used my Zuiko 28/3.5 in months, so thanks for reviving the thread. Spring is here, so I'll have to take the 28 for a walk soon.

I think I pushed the dynamic range of my sensor just a bit harder than what it could handle

My reversing ring is 'shiny chrome' inside and causes quite a bit of flare, so I'll need to black it out to fix that. Also, with it reversed, stopping down requires manually depressing the preview button (need to find a stout rubber band), which means vibration from me holding it, so these could probably be a bit sharper than they are.

dandelion ... sooc handheld reversed

Astonishing! How close to the lens did you light the match?

some more samples, all shot handhold on tubes (that's why they are blurred):

btw: the flower's pistils are less than 0.5mm long

Static ... nice work especially handheld ... I've never seen a bee's tongue (in focus) before ... COOL !! (Legal Disclaimer: For the folks watching, do not try this at home with AF, this was done by trained MF professionals.)

I"m estimating the match was about 3" away from the lens front ... maybe a little less.

The orange glow in the last shot is from the lit match I was using to ignite the one in the pic ... took a few tries to get the timing right, especially since I was using MLU & 10 sec timer to keep things stable. I definitely will be finding something (rubber band ??) the depress the preview button so I can stop down to f8-11.

BTW ... I'm still checking out your pistol shot with 64mm extension handheld ... props to the steady hand ... gotta love 'pushing' things (which is probably what I post most) even if they don't look 'picture perfect' ... kinda the overall spirit of alts imo

Some impressive shots here from one of my favorite zuiko's.

Just curious....has anyone compared the 28mm f2.0 to the 28mm f2.8 to the 28mm f3.5 side by side. I have owned the 28mm f2.8 (now sold - recently) and was wondering if the f2.0 is really that much better. Is the f2.0 really worth the extra $$$'s.

I didn't think so, but that's mostly because I have another 28/2 (Vivitar Close-Focus) that I much prefer for close-up and low-light work, so the extra money spent on the Zuiko 28/2 was a waste for me, personally. It was more expensive than my two 28s combined, and it didn't offer any advantages for me. YMMV.

I don't have any comparison shots (culled long ago), but I do remember that the Zuiko 28/2 performed quite well for landscape work.

I just recently acquired the 28/2.8. First was the 28/3.5 from rachp then the 28/2 locally. I am awaiting my rokkor 28/2.5 to arrive and also have a rokkor 28/3.5 waiting in the conversion queue. I was going to wait until getting all my ducks in a row but if anyone wants to evaluate them in the socal area and has copies of the great 28's maybe we could plan a 28mm battle! I also have the zuiko 24's but the curved knuckle rokkors didn't come in 24mm counterparts.
