Quick question on saturation. Do you guys beef up the colors with post processing? I went for a trip in Vermont last weekend and my colors where nice but dull/closer to reality than what I see here. Maybe because the weather was cloudy but just curious.

This is about 4 hours into the trail and two hours more to walk Totally Dark at 7:10PM walking using Flash light and got lost for a hour also I have back track. Rested the camera on the bridge railing to provide some stabilization..nothing like the VR/IS in canon/nikon. had to use the railing as i was holding coffee cup in the other hand
Camera: Blackberry 8830
No flash
Shutter: TBD
resizing for web has added some artifacts in the sky. Only adjustments done is to add some contrast. no USM.
You know, you might be on to something here. It has that impressionistic feeling to it, due the lens and camera qualities, which is effective here. Some people work for hours in PS to get that kind of effect..

OK, now I am going to slash my wrists. You shot this scene with a BLACKBERRY better than I did with my 40D and Tamron 17-50 lens.

The fall colors are getting everyone's adrenaline going strong. So, sift through your memory cards and select your ONE 'best of season' to post on this thread. Be sure to include the location and any other data you care to. No hurry, the colors run into November in some places. Just one image per member, please. Thanks!
I rather liked your post as is, very natural. I liked the bright foreground to contrasting the dark pines is nice. But if you prefer a glow maybe some selective coloring? Add black to your reds and yellows, that it give it a glow.
Does it have to be from this year? My wife vetoed the family vacation to the Smokeys because "the kids are too small" - they weren't too small when we planned the trip half a year ago... so now all I can do is live in the past.
Hoping that it's ok, this is my all-time favorite fall photo - Maine 2004: http://fm.jirman.com/0/MaineHammock.jpg
This was taken while leaving the North Lake area near Bishop.
I could see the stand of Aspen off the road below me and more importantly,
the carpet of fallen leaves.
Hard to pick a favorite from a season that is such a pleasure to shoot. This is a 3 image pano of a beautiful little lake in the Eastern Sierra. Inge and I shot at this location at a vew different times while there. This was in the afternoon and we pretty much had this part of the lake to ourselves. Had to wait for the wind to die down a bit to improve the quality of reflections in the lake.
