Stupid work has gotten in the way of my taking photos and we just had a brutal wind storm in Calgary so many of the leaves are gone for the year
Here is one I got from Fish Creek in Calgary at Dusk. It's a little more muted than I would have liked but I have decided I want to participate more on FM to learn.
Your shot looks very beautiful and peaceful. But is there unseen danger lurking down that road? Like a lion or other things that might find a casual photographer a nice dinner snack?
This road is in the Jonkershoek valley, just outside my hometown, Stellenbosch. There are leopard sightings in these mountains, but very very rarely. About twice a year, it's probably the last generation. Gone extinct thanks to the destruction of their habitat. Maybe there's a small family left, it's quite a big protected mountain range, mainly forestry land and nature reserve.
Thanks Heinz, it was taken in May yes, I'm enjoying spring much more than autumn, South Africa doesn't really have a reputation for trees. The old majestic trees that we do have in abundance though is the Australian bluegum tree. Which is probably the most un-photogenic tree in existence
