firstsupport: Out of curiosity, what day did you place your Adorama order? I placed mine on sept. 24th and haven't gotten any notification yet. Thanks for the info.

I just checked my Amazon order which I also placed Sept. 17. I don't have that message tagged above the order. I also would take Amazon's information with a grain of salt, since it was probably a computer that tagged it that way. At least, this is how it's been for me in the past. Weirdness with ship dates is not unusual with Amazon...
As an addendum, my Amazon order says this:
"Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."
I did order it with 1-day delivery. Not sure how that affects anything, if at all...
Evidently not. What's the point of this post? Do you not think the folks out there who are starting to get their cameras are doing enough for you specifically?

Damn .... you spend $2,700 on a 5D II and then find that you will need a new L-bracket, some spare batteries, and you will also have to upgrade your computer hardware and software, etc.
You can always use other raw converter (i.e.: DPP) for the raw conversion and then use CS3 to post process it.

Unfortunately, no. ACR 5.x will only work with CS4 and it is unlikely that adobe will update ACR 4.x (which is the version that CS3 uses) to include support for 5DII.
5d2 and CS3: you have to go to the DNG page http://www.adobe.com/products/dng/index.html
to get the 5.2 DNG convertor and then add the new camera profiles from the regular Adobe support page for photoshop (don't add the Camera Raw 5.2 plugin since it doesn't work with CS3) and then CS3/CameraRaw handles 5D2-- camera profiles included
note that a .DNG comes in at 27 MB while the .CR2 is 34.3 MB)
Adobe DNG converter is also upgraded to ver 5.2 and supports the 5D MK II. Convert the raw .cr2 files to dng and you can use them on most any Adobe image software as well as many other standard ones. I downloaded and installed it today, it works fine with 5D MK II files.

So with this I can shoot RAW and CS3 will be able to open it as it did for 5D files? Or do I now have to convert RAW file to DNG files first?
